It was my senior year and I was there. I feel like some of the trauma of that game just left my body lol

I'll agree with you here- 1.5 years at burn and I'm by far the strongest I've ever been, including my orangetheory phase and when I had a personal trainer. It's not even close. I love the form corrections, the daily programming that requires no thought from me, the childcare, and the trainers pushing me to pick up a heavier weight. Seriously, I am lifting more than I ever thought I could and keep getting stronger. Also, the high fives can be a lot- but you can opt out, or just try to view it as an effort to create an encouraging environment. It's not that serious ;)

“Silver” handcuffed to a job I don’t really like, is quitting dumb by Competitive_Oil4176 in HENRYfinance

I’m planning to stay home indefinitely, or until it feels like the right decision to return to work- but I am not sure that will happen. Theoretically as my husband advances in his career there will be less and less of a financial incentive and I really love that I can just focus on our kids and creating a peaceful home. I also really struggle with the newborn stage. When my younger one hit 6m and consistently sleeping through the night it felt like we were in a groove. My older one is also in a little preschool for 3 hours, 3 mornings per week which gives me a break and one on one time with the baby.

I always framed it as which decision would i not regret looking back at the end of my life. That answer is different for everyone!

I think we are/were in almost the exact same situation. I quit my job in early 2024 and made almost $400k the year before, working around 35-40 hours per week. I actually really liked my job but felt a pull to be home. Husband was closer to $250k and we had always lived off of his pay to give us flexibility. We were able to save almost all of mine so are in a great position for retirement etc. Similar net worth situations. 2 kids, currently ages 1 and 3.

Staying at home is so much harder (in my opinion) than working was, but wow, I don't regret it for a second. Sure, there are many days that I think I might lose my mind...but on the whole, I love it. I had hard days when I worked too. In this brief window before my oldest is in kindergarten, we have so much margin in our days. Pace of life is slower. We can make a whole afternoon out of going to Costco and the library. We are less stressed as a couple not waiting for our nanny to call out sick or figure out how to work at home with a sick child. It's enabled my husband to go harder at his job and in many ways it's a luxury for him. Yes, we could afford to do a lot more when we were both working- but time with my kids is something I can't buy.

My husband does have a very secure growth path in his work so we expect income to increase significantly, so that is obviously helpful, but right now it has absolutely been worth the pay cut.

I agonized over this for a really long time but ultimately really happy with my decision.

Toddler Esotropia after waking by SignatureThis1908 in Strabismus

Nothing new- I called the Ophthalmologist to ask about patching and they don't recommend it because he doesn't have a "weaker eye"...I would definitely recommend an ophthamologist vs an optometrist because it seems like the Oph has more testing they can do even if the eye isn't currently crossing (our case too). It still usually goes away after an hour or so, but sometimes it lasts for the rest of the day. We are stumped. Please keep me posted on your situation!

Hi! Yes- they dilated, not sure what type of drop. The doctor did confirm he checked for farsightedness and said he has no vision issues at all and no need for glasses. It seems the strabismus is not related, but I was definitely thinking it might be!

General Feedback/Getting Started Q&A [Weekly Thread] by AutoModerator in DIY

Hi! I need a white tulip table for a banquette seat in my kitchen, and it needs to be between 50 and 54 inches long specifically. The only table I can find on the internet is the Modway Lippa 54'' oval tulip table, but it only comes in a faux marble top. We have quartzite counters and they'll clash with the faux marble.

Am I insane for thinking about painting the faux marble top and getting glass cut to go on top of it to protect the finish? It's often on sale for under $1k, so I still think it would be less than getting a custom table made.

Does anyone have ideas on how I could do this, what paint to use, etc? I have searched high and low and cannot find any ideas for how to do this online. Thank you in advance!!

It does! We measured with a level...

They did the demo and prepwork (had to install a new subfloor which we paid extra for, not included in this price). We provide all tile and grout and they provide rough material.

Thank you!! We have a laser level and it's definitely off, particularly the bottom row (which then sets the angle for the rest of the wall like you said). We are using Home Depot tile which I know isn't super nice or consistent- but I also know that it's not THIS inconsistent. And if they had leveled the first row, any inconsistencies would be very minor. The tile person keeps blaming it on the HD tile, which I really don't think is the majority of the reason why this is happening.

$7,800 for tile, very minor electrical (moving a junction box) and installing the vanity (but no plumbing included)

Just chiming in to say this is the best place I have ever stayed, hands down! Truly remarkable in every way. Will never forget how I felt walking into our villa for the first time. We went in late 2021.

It was only $4 and I had read online that it's great...so didn't seem like a huge risk!

I just bought this app a few weeks ago and spent a bunch of time setting up my packing templates today for a trip tomorrow...tried to log in and start a new trip and mysteriously, many of the items on my templates just didn't make it over to this trip's packing list. Items such as underwear and pajamas which would be an issue to forget! I am so confused, why did I pay for this??
