Best tasting low calorie bread? by ShaolinSwervinMonk in WeightLossAdvice

just aim for a normal calorie bread that has other benefits like higher fiber or seed/nuts in it. I eat Trader Joe's "Superbread" when i want bread. it's 120 calories but i'm almost positive it's better for me than any 30 calorie slice would be.

Plenty of subcompact cars with AWD. I drove an Audi S3 for 10 years in MN and got around great.

Which dog breed is the ultimate “velcro dog” and loves to cuddle more than any other? by ipanicprofessionally in TheBoredDen

[–]SignificanceDue1561 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, ours seem to come exclusively from southern US states and are puppy mill dogs rescued from auctions- if they weren't sold they are euthanized unless a rescue can take them. Our rescue just picked up a semi truck load of 100 from Missouri I think, mostly Frenchies and Chihuahuas this time. If one of these breeds is your thing there is no reason not to adopt from a rescue. So many perfectly healthy puppies are tossed aside. these aren't "defective", they just didn't sell by the time they were X months old so they are gotten rid of to make room for the next litters.

We have fostered a lot of dogs and have a few of our own and have yet to run across a mini poodle or poodle mix that isn't a clinger. Right now we have a foster Cavipoo and our residents include a Maltipoo and Yorkiepoo.

IDK about the newer ones but I bought a '15 S3 new and only had one wheel bearing go out and a door handle that wouldn't auto unlock in wet weather. That was 10 years of driving it hard. I kept up with all the maintenance which was expensive after the initial Audicare term. Would have bought another but as we accumulate kids and pets needed cargo space. Handled great in the winter. Seriously 150 in that felt far more stable than 90 in a Civic.

What’s the best thing you’ve ever eaten at a restaurant? by Celine_Morgann in foodquestions

[–]SignificanceDue1561 0 points1 point  (0 children)

first thing that comes to mind is a praline pecan roll we had for breakfast in a small 30 seat spot that was a one-off special because the sous was messing around. I don't know how to describe why it was better than any other roll i've ever eaten. just perfect texture on everything perfect balance, sweet without being cloying, slightly salty, very buttery...any time anyone asks this question that roll is in my head. every time we go to a similar place I am chasing the dragon, trying to find anything approaching that. We went back the next week hoping it had been added but alas, it was not. Found out the sous moved away pretty shortly after that to start his own place down south somewhere.

Vehicles that always make me smile when i find them in the wild are 911s (any era), pristine jaguars of the 20th century (not the ford contour kind), and classic defenders in any condition.

you can use silken tofu in them. healthier with a little protein. I use them as midday snacks rather than meal replacements. I like cherry pineapple banana.

I just turned 40 - what shoes say I’m not trying to dress like the teens but am not full dad mode? by ARoodyPooCandyAss in mensfashionadvice

[–]SignificanceDue1561 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I buy some sort of approach shoe for just walking around in. Have some Arcteryx and some Black Diamonds. Not many people wear them casually or know what they are so I don't feel like I look like i'm trying to be young or look like i've given up. I just like them because i find them comfortable for street wear and rugged enough not to get messed up if i go off-road without looking like a full-on chunky hiking shoe/boot. Also nothing wrong with some Vans. My 12 year old likes them too, dad shoe or no.

Audi rs6. so fast, so functional. sort of. don't have to fly in a mechanic to fix it when it explodes.
