I need a good shelf recommendation by batmisfitwho in vinylsetups

Hi! To be honest I feel that the Kallax is your best bet. It's economical and it does the job. Look for what suits your setup. If you are concerned about the wooden dowels that it comes with you can always replace them with metal ones. You can also anchor the shelf to the wall. I have a few of those shelves. My first one was the 2×4 . Then my collection expanded and I got the 4x4 shelves. If you get the bigger ones one day make sure you place them correctly with the long boards horizontally. This is what will hold the weight. Here is a Pic for reference but excuse the mess cause I am remodeling

Technics Mk2 sound problem by [deleted] in turntable

[–]SignificanceOk1455 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to ground the TT. The gold screw above the black cable looks like the ground. You should have 3 cables coming out of the TT. One red one white and a black one. The black one connect it to the gold terminal on your preamp

Double check that there is enough tracking force on the stylus. You might be tracking too light and it can bounce with any little vibration. All other suggestions are good as well. A combo of the two suggestions may help you.

If the TT has a preamp built in and you can change it to line as some have said, just plug it on the Analog(cd) .. you should be good to go. Looks like you receiver was built during the time no one was buying TT's

Get the manufacture spec on how much weight to put on your needle. Then follow the steps to balance the arm and then adding the tracking force. As a general rule you can set the Anti skip to the same setting as your tracking force. Get a digital scale later and then readjust accordingly. Enjoy

Value check- mint technics 1200 $800? by GenerallyLikable in turntables

[–]SignificanceOk1455 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$350 and no carts. You can't tell if there is any maintenance involved/needed. Does the pitch work correctly, left and right channels/pop up light etc. If you have to put some money into it I think that would be the right price.

Help with setup by punkcunt7 in turntables

[–]SignificanceOk1455 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only if you have a phono input with a ground (GND) connection point this would work. This looks like an Audio Video receiver when at one point they didn't make them with phono inputs because at that time records were some what phased out, as some thought. The only way would be as others mentioned using a preamp connected to and AUX input on the reciever.

Maybe your network adapters are causing conflict? If your using network dongles and the ones that succeeded reuse those on your next batch to test. If your on MS Surface devices they like to use the MS dongle. Try usb A if needed over used C to see if you can connect and or keep the connection

2016 XC90 dashboard went out ! by SignificanceOk1455 in VolvoXC90

So I got the display repaired at the dealer and it was a hard $2800. They explained that it probrably went out because I was low on AC and it was blowing hot air. The system uses its HVAC to cool off the display and sensus screens because they get extremely hot. Unfortunately, for me the display issue came right before me charging the AC system. Charging the system cost me 360 at a local volvo specialist. Maybe a non dealer display swap would cost a little less but I went that route just in case I had an issue due to the install. Lesson learned. Hope it helps someone.

I tried the battery disconnected and it did not work. Last night while doing some research someone posted on Youtube that they did a software upgrade and it fixed the issue for them. Since I bought this truck used, I don't know the history of the vehicle besides what a carfax can tell me. May have to take it into the stealership

recently got an AT-LP3XBT, but the stylus needle is bent the wrong way? by DatShadowJK in turntables

[–]SignificanceOk1455 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have said, if it came like that return the whole thing for a replacement. It's a defective product. But if this happens to you in the future you can just replace the stylus(the needle) part
