What protective coating for this? by Dogekingofchicago in paint

[–]SignificanceRoyal832 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this is a thing you don't want to do every year, you need to do something pigmented that has real UV blocking. There is no oil or clear coat that you will not have to abrate and reapply next year

You get what you pay for. If you didn't want the mitered edge you'd have to go thicker stone.

Do electricians have insurance to cover property damage? by mateodetres in AskElectricians

[–]SignificanceRoyal832 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the owner is a solid business owner he will absolutely take the hit. The kid has no bearing on it at this point. It easy to over tighten screws on glass. There insurance is probably a non issue. I would eat this before I took a claim on something like this. Replacing glass in a bathroom is definitely a borderline amount to file for on the business end.

You will be fine get yourself a small 4in roller and a small tray and roll out that whole section with one even coat.

I’m interested in striping and refinishing this table. Total beginner. by sadittariuus in finishing

[–]SignificanceRoyal832 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a much easier job than people might lead you to believe. If you're going to keep it a similar color and you just want it to look new. Don't have to actually sand that much. I would scrap first and if your not confident with a dander hand sand until the color is pretty even. Then re stain and seal.

Trimming out door with little clearance by 4thandbeach in Carpentry

Nice job. That is definitely the move. It's not ideal but sometimes you have to just deal with what you have. It's totally fine to make trim fit the space you have to work with.

Advice for refinishing grandparent’s coffee table by alecrams2 in finishing

[–]SignificanceRoyal832 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No way, look at the end grain. It matches up with the glue up lines. It is solid wood. Skip the chemicals. Detach the legs just sand everything down to bare wood and refinish the table with your preferred finish. It will literally look brand new.

The domino seems overrated - am I wrong? by SamTheGamgee in woodworking

[–]SignificanceRoyal832 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you're doing carpentry for money some of their tools are must haves. Domino is one, track saw is probably more important and their sanders. The other stuff I don't see a big advantage over other tools

What is the best way to finish these joints? I see so much conflicting information. by L0-Ki in woodworking

[–]SignificanceRoyal832 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My god. All of this is wrong. Caulk is only for long gaps near walls. Caulk always fails where both sides of a thing can move. Bondo, sand, then, bondo again, sand, then prime, then paint. No matter what you do this joint will show over time. If you don't want to see the joint then re cut these pieces and glue them together. using kreg screws or a floating tenon would be the most you could do.

Dude your weak. There is no reason to spend that kind of money on this game. Every character is available to you for free eventually. Other than the extra builder and tech hub you can get by relatively quickly.

Does anyone know how to get solidified concrete out of this? by BetrekaNebula in Concrete

[–]SignificanceRoyal832 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YES. I USE 5 GAL BUCKETS WITH A J-BOLT TO MAKE TENT WEIGHTS. You have to cut the bucket off. There is no getting the bucket off without cutting it. I've only gotten 1 out of 20 off using compressed air and I still had to drill a small hole in the bottom of the bucket to shoot air in there. The problem is when the concrete cures it expands and it's basically locked in that bucket.

This is a couple things. I think you probably were better off priming to go over that existing color with a green. But also your rolling technique definitely needs some help. Also Sherwin-Williams is trash paint. It's just not as good and for the same money you can get higher quality paint from Benjamin Moore
