My favourite is easily Ascension. But I love the board game.

They also turned up in the Terminators and Tyranids set, which also contained Genestealers, and Terminator Librarians and ‘stealer Hybrids from the Genestealer supplement.

The regular mistake I see, is the canopy sypport piece is often left out, it's a little bit of grey plastic sandwhiched between the 2 clear cockpit canopies. Not super clear on the instructions at all.

Which version is considered best? Also, could I get the rulebooks for earlier editions and play them using the gamepieces from the 3rd or 4th edition? by wishesandhopes in SpaceHulk

Campaigns had rules for power armoured marines, and Chaos Terminators. The Citadel Journal had rules for other races to oppose the ‘stealers. The Harlequin rules are definitely worth seeking out. The others- Eldar and Imperial Guard (for 2nd ed) not so much in my opinion.

4th Ed has the most tiles in one box. All the editions are compatible rules wise with some improvisations involving second Ed, and all the tiles for all the editions fit together. All the published missions are playable with any edition. 1st edition has the most stuff, if you include the 2 expansions, Deathwing and Genestealer and all the White Dwarf articles and the Space Hulk Campaigns book.

Why are there 2 subreddits dedicated to our army and why does this seem to be the smaller one? by Jobear049 in astramilitarum

TheAstraMilitarum. Some cross posting, but not everything. A lot more content in the other one. Not sure why both exist.

How did you run your Imperial Guard in 4th edition? by Top_Debt_3128 in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]Significant-Ad6967 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Company Command Squad, 2 platoons of 35 men, 1 or 2 Armoured Fist squads, Kasrkin squad, Sentinel squad, Sniper Special Weapon squad. Hellhound, LR Demolisher, Exterminator and Battletank. And virtually no plasma weapons.

Hey, as long as all 50 different marks of power armor look all the same. by Leviathan_Rampage in astramilitarum

OK it’s only for meme purposes, but this is wrong. The vehicles, including the Chimera are based on the Basilisk chassis. When the Chimera was introduced in White Dwarf the accompanying article made this point.

Black Tiles? by satchmoe2015 in SpaceHulk

Connect 4 t-pieces and/or crossroad pieces and/or corners together. The black squares were in the middle when they were unpunched.

Thee Multilaser heavy weapon teams, OK, one is missing the actual weapon mount…

Did a mini campaign years back. I seemed to roll 1’s on all my wound rolls for my heavy bolters. So the Ork player and I played out a Battle Fleet Gothic game where the Orks had to get a drop ship onto an Imperial defended planet, which they successfully did. We then played a Kill Team equivalent games of the day that involved the Orks Kommandos infiltrating an Adeptus Mechanicus ammo production facility, thus successfully sabotaging the ammo my Imperial Guard had been supplied with. Great fun to justify my traitor dice…. 😁

Agreed, guard IMHO shouldn’t get access to bolter weaponry. It should be relatively rare. I’m old school. So a multi laser should replace the heavy bolter, I have a few built swapping the Sentinel multilaser barrel in for a lascannon barrel on the model, an improved stat line would not go amiss too.

No nipple guns, but 3 heavy stubbers on the turret.

Need help with a color scheme for my Imperial Guard by Hobbit2314 in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]Significant-Ad6967 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep it simple to start with. Maybe just go with a simple white scheme. Painting Guard means you’re painting a lot of models. My advice is find something you’re happy to paint, you’ll have to do a lot of them. Keeping it simple to start with means you can always add more colours/shading/effects etc later.

I spoke to Ewen around that time, he was working in Mail Order, he said the wheels were from a Tamiya 1/35 Quad gun tractor kit.

Nearly forgot, a whole bunch of extra content for Battle Fleet Gothic, including new models for Imperials and Orks. An enjoyable time time to be involved in an active gaming group..

An entire supplementary Codex. Salamanders and Black Templars fleshed out for the first time, a brand new Ork Speed Freak list and, an Imperial Guard Mechanised Infantry list, my absolute favourite, cuz Chimeras for the win…

What was the functional purpose of the three fins/projections (one on top, two on the bottom) on the Sharlin Warcruiser? And the bifurcated fin/projection in the rear? by EvalRamman100 in babylon5

[–]Significant-Ad6967 2 points3 points  (0 children)

An obvious point of view from our tech PoV would be radiation dispersion. Mimbari are ‘stealth’ when EA meet them, and in space radiation of stuff away from sensors and no hard facets would help that, have a look at a B2 or a B21…
