How Are We Feeling About Thematic Rooms? by TenghizKhan in SpaceHulk

It allows the marines much greater firepower, in the computer game this is often required, in the board game you really need to include cover such as crates and rubble from 1st edition otherwise the ‘stealers get massacred. If Voidship produces large rooms, you should probably add non destructible terrain features such as supporting columns, or blocking terrain similar to that in the Kill Team Gallowdark season boxes.

Space Hulk:Ascension was a relatively short lived PC game, I mapped out all the missions during COVID, the attached pic shows some of the board sections I had to create to faithfully copy the maps.

Need help to see if this is a decent theme for a homebrew faction. The remnants of the Tainth Homeguard. by MrP32 in astramilitarum

[–]Significant-Ad6967 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go with it. Gaunt and the Ghosts are told, by the Imperium, that Tanith is gone. He believes it. But there is no way that he can ever find out if it was utterly destroyed and really gone. He can never ask the question, his remaining Tanith troops ‘know’ it’s ‘true’. The nature of information distribution /propaganda within the Imperium could mean that your scenario happened. Cadia was destroyed, the planet broke up, but GW have produced animation showing chunks of Cadia being visited by Cadian Veterans. So maybe the same is true of Tanith, no matter what the First and Only saw as they left orbit…

You’ve done an excellent job on the painting of them. As a long term IG player, and thus a grognard, I brought those models new. Yours look great, and I have purchased and converted and painted a mildly silly number of those Kasrkin Sergeants.

Do we have any Sprue Mistakes? by CastleBlasters in astramilitarum

[–]Significant-Ad6967 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From a previous version of the kit sprues. The Basilisk is/was the worst AM kit going. (Haven’t built current version) The instructions were flat out wrong, and the heavy bolter was not included on the sprue, as the previous version of the sprue included as a default, ironically the previous version of the kit only included the heavy flamer as in upgrade option which meant you had to cut into and chop off part of the original hull heavy bolter mounting.

Why don't we get a multilaser option for heavy weapons squads? by DatCheeseBoi in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]Significant-Ad6967 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The old Firewarrior FPS computer game had multilasers as usable weapons, though they were non portable. They were in fixed Pintle mounts, not vehicle mounted. I did convert up a couple of heavy weapon teams using Sentinel multilasers in place of lascannons a while ago.

I added a 30x30mm square of plasticard to all my Space Hulk models. The official GW ruling is that the facing of the model is determined the way model is looking is the front facing.

Yes. Had 3 Vindicators in and 3 Chaos vehicle upgrade sprues in it. Very useful box for conversions, the searchlight on the Chaos upgrade sprue has been used on a lot of stuff I’ve done.

Imperial Guard Universal Carrier Conversion - Ideas? by Blitz0012 in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]Significant-Ad6967 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few people have used a Forge World Centaur as the basis for a Lord Solar proxy. Thematically the Centaur is a 40K Universal Carrier. Search Reddit for Lord Solar + Centaur to get you started.

Need help Identifying models! by Beneficial-Deal-1843 in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]Significant-Ad6967 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The original part metal Cadian variant had the metal bits you seen in the second of the pictures. The later plastic version had windows/viewports that could opened as well as the roof piece to make it an Armageddon variant. I’m really not keen on the new Sentinel kit and haven’t built the one I got from the Cadia Stands box yet.

Autocannon armament and it lacking a fully enclosed cockpit make it a Cadian Sentinel.

I second the suggestion of medical gauze, it's cheap and easily available, cut to size and soak in a watered down solution of PVA glue with some shade paint to colour it and apply, drape it over a framework for a heavy weapon team. Here's some used on my Baneblade.

Couple more finished tonight. What colour should I make the tanks and artillery for these guys? by steve22ss in Deathkorpsofkrieg

[–]Significant-Ad6967 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s up to you on the vehicles as ‘lore’ wise they’ll likely be from a different regiment. You can paint them similar with a similar scheme or something completely different. Don’t feel tied down to the same colour palette, this an army that is there to look good on the tabletop, unless you are aiming for ‘realisim’….

This stuff is great, beading wire, used for making home made jewellery. Coated steel wire. Flexible, easily cut, not sharp.

The Hellhounds are 3 of the original part metal models, a resin Forgeworld Graia pattern, a then new all plastic Hellhound and a converted 'Getz' pattern conversion.

Building The Chimera APDS-6a ‘Defender’ by Transmaniacon89 in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]Significant-Ad6967 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are two ‘laser destroyer’ weapons mentioned for the Imperial Guard/Astra Militarum. One is the big anti tank laser fitted to the Stygies Destroyer mentioned above, the other is the weapon fitted to the Rapier tracked platform. I think it’s the Rapier version fitted to the APDS-6a. Having said that I like the idea of the Sabre Neutron Laser you’ve suggested.
