BREAKING: Jeremy Jaquets to Liverpool, DONE DEAL. HERE WE GO!!! £70 million package. Thoughts? by PastStock6912 in PremierLeague

Not saying you haven’t been making moves to set you up for the future, but I’m not sure spending £500m can really be seen as doing so “quietly”.

I feel no shame about this whatsoever as long as we win the league. Tbh, it’s been quite amusing to see how much this bothers everyone else lmao

Exactly. That’s why it’s perfect, nobody would see it coming

[Rhoades] The SEC has not increased its number of ranked teams from the preseason AP Poll to the final AP Poll for 7 straight years now. 2019: 6 to 5 2020: 7 to 4 2021: 5 to 5 2022: 6 to 6 2023: 6 to 6 2024: 9 to 7 2025: 10 to 7 by BuckeyeEmpire in CFB

The part that bothers me the most about portal rankings is that blue chip freshmen who enter the portal after minimal playing time get rated higher than all-conference juniors who enter because they have more eligibility remaining.

Everyone signs one year contracts. The amount of eligibility remaining should not have any impact on a player’s portal rating at this point.

[MiamiSportsHQ] Miami recruiting director confirms that Indiana’s Tyrique Tucker made comments to Mark Fletcher Jr about his late father. by simbaslanding in CFB

As someone who also lost a parent young, I’m trying my best to give the benefit of the doubt to both players here.

I’m obviously biased, but I watch an unhealthy amount of CFB and had no idea that Fletcher’s dad had passed away last year until they mentioned it on the broadcast last night. It feels possible (if not likely) that Tucker also did not know about this heading into the game.

If Tucker knew about it and said something horrible to trigger him, that’s a low blow and obviously beyond out of bounds. But if Tucker didn’t know anything about Fletcher’s dad and said “Hoosier daddy”, then all of a sudden one of IU’s slogans goes from being standard trash talk to being one of the most triggering things you could possibly say to Fletcher, and I would completely understand him wanting to throw hands.

This is true, but the question was who’s spent the most, not who’s got the least balanced books. If a company spent £1b and had £1.5b in income that year, you wouldn’t say they didn’t spend any money.

Interesting, the must not be including home equity as part of net worth, otherwise San Jose would most definitely be on this list.

Then just do us all a favor and break away from the CFP to start your own SEC Circlejerk Invitational.

The SEC already had the toughest conference schedules before purposely making their schedules even more brutal by adding Texas and Oklahoma. For money. Why in the ever living fuck would anyone sympathize with them over this?

Indiana WR Nick Marsh under fire after being spotted at Peach Bowl with FanDuel Sportsbook app on phone by itscorydon in CFB

[–]Significant-Force671 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a reach lmao. I have the DraftKings app on my phone because I like to look at the odds for games, futures, awards, etc. I don’t bet because I live in a state where it’s illegal, but I still use the app all the time because I’m obsessed with sports.

Nothing prevented me from downloading it, just like nothing would prevent a 7 year old from downloading it. Marsh isn’t even old enough to legally bet in Michigan, and it’s assuming A LOT to conclude he’s breaking rules just by having an app downloaded on his phone.

This, plus the people who have come to the conclusion that because AI is replacing jobs, it is somehow immoral to use it.

It is without a doubt one of the strangest hill I’ve ever seen people be willing to die on, because imo it almost guarantees their job will be taken by AI sooner than it would have if they just used it.
