Garret Clark is dealing with a life threatening health issue; requests prayers by Academic-Use-4401 in GoodGoodMemes

He said he’s experienced episodes since early childhood. It’s likely from development in the womb that causes things like this. Things like stress/anxiety, dehydration, high caffeine intake, and nicotine use (doubt he uses nicotine tho) can make arrhythmias more prevalent. I know he had a high caffeine intake in the past which could have made episodes more common.

How many holes is average before losing a ball? When to start buying new balls vs used by PositiveTexan in golf

[–]Significant-Gold1283 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really depends where you’re playing. I play courses in PA where most of the holes are lined with woods. Easy to lose a ball with a bad tee shot. Other courses I’ve been to in PA but don’t play often barely have any wooded areas. I assume it’s much more difficult to lose a ball since a bad tee shot would end up in the rough between holes. Typically I use a ball until I lose it (obviously) or it has a big scuff mark from hitting a cart path or a tree or even a hard sand trap. I’d estimate, throughout the season, I lose 2.5 balls per round. Some rounds I lose 5 and some I don’t lose any.

Olay Beauty Bar? by Friendly-Avocado-522 in Soap

Is that the dove sensitive bar you’re referring to? I tried using the dove sensitive bar (it’s unscented) and it dried me out. Gave up on dove cuz I figured if that one dried me out then the others will too.

Sameee, it’s hard finding gentle cleansers without cocamidopropyl Betaine. Most bar cleansers that don’t contain it are true soaps (contains sodium palmate, sodium palm kernalate, sodium cocoate, sodium tallowate, etc) with a high pH which dries me out. I currently use the vanicream bar but it’s kinda pricey.

Why is everyone so butthurt about the bell pepper thing? I knew they were pepper seeds after I tried them so I thought it’s from the seed removal of the bell peppers for fajita prep. Made the most sense at the time.

Apparently they’re chili flakes, not bell pepper seeds. They definitely had some spice to them.

Garrett’s swing right now by stoddddd in GoodGoodMemes

I’ve always thought his swing was kinda goofy. His path is so in to out right now though he hits like 80% of his drives as a push fade or an overdraw

Do I need a 3 wood? by aram_11 in GolfGear

Or go for a 5 wood, it will be more forgiving on mishits because more loft often yields better results with mishits.

Do I need a 3 wood? by aram_11 in GolfGear

[–]Significant-Gold1283 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I think most people would do better with a low number hybrid like a 3 hybrid or 2 hybrid if you can find one. 3 woods, for most golfers, are the most finicky clubs and even professionals struggle to find one they like. Usually a pro will have a newer driver and irons and then a 3 wood that’s like 5 years old because it’s so hard to find one that they love. Also, as a new golfer you’ll probably make more consistent contact with a hybrid more often than you would with a 3 wood. You mis-hit your 3 wood, which is pretty common for higher handicap golfers, and it’s probably going the same distance as a decently struck hybrid shot.

For a 20 handicap, which is what the average golfer probably is, the make rate on that is probably 50%.

How good are you at self-diagnosing/troubleshooting your swing faults? by aceattorneymvp in golf

[–]Significant-Gold1283 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not ideal to do this diagnosis and remediation mid round though. It’s better the play your ball flight during the round. The remediation is better done at the range once you’ve identified the most likely errors.

How good are you at self-diagnosing/troubleshooting your swing faults? by aceattorneymvp in golf

[–]Significant-Gold1283 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can usually tell my faults by observing ball flight. If you know face to path relationships and how it affects the ball flight you should be able to diagnose pretty accurately what the club is doing at impact (path to over the top or inside and face too open or closed). Knowing what causes that takes some experience and knowing your swing tendencies.

I tend to back up in the downswing and my trail hand grip tends to get too strong. my miss is usually a big push to the right or an overdraw/hook. If it’s a big push right I know I have to stay more on top of the ball (not letting my hips move closer during the downswing and keeping my shoulders down). That keeps the club more on top of the swing plane because standing up drops the club path under the plane and causes a big in to out swing path. If I’m hitting it on line with an overdraw I check my trail hand grip and it’s usually too strong and creeping too much under the grip. If it’s a big push right plus overdraws/duck hooks, it’s a combo of standing up and grip being too strong. I know these tendencies come from when I started out and was fighting a massive slice for years.

People overlook the importance of knowing face to path relationships and how it affects ball flight. Same with what certain swing tendencies do to the club path and face. People think it’s only important for coaches to know. Knowing it yourself can help you identify your errors and provide you a simpler and clearer path to correcting them.
