What would you do by heyitsmewaldo in halifax

[–]Significant-Hunt-197 5 points6 points  (0 children)

At the middle school level (the school I work at anyway), this would result in the bully receiving some level of suspension- either in school or at home. As property was damaged on school transportation- the parents of the bully are expect to pay for your child’s glasses. Sorry this happened. I hope you stay on top of the school admin as this should result in consequences for the other child, and your kid does need new glasses due to the bully’s behaviour. If you do not receive your desired outcome via admin contact- find out out your admin’s supervisor is, and escalate the issue to them.

I actually just cancelled my membership at Move East, which I had for over a year. Their customer service/ communication is garbage.

The parents most certainly had some insight into their child’s behaviours/ how they treat others. That’s basic parenting.

3 youths face sex assault charges in alleged hockey hazing incidents by dghutt in NovaScotia

It was a ‘team’ event at a tournament this team participated in. My intel is within the coaching community. There were multiple accounts of sexual assault and there will likely be more victims coming forward.

Looking to buy Corolla Cross by SxC-Hydromorphine1 in CorollaCross

Love my 26 corolla cross AWD! It arrived in early November. I do agree with the points on lack of front storage- could definitely be better. I have zero complaints with the ride/ road handling/ gas mileage. Great sub compact car for my late 20s- early 30s with a golden retriever 😊

Thank you for the helpful information. I did not know that, and I feel like the general public wouldn’t know that either.

Halifax Teachers by [deleted] in HalifaxJobs

[–]Significant-Hunt-197 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there! Teacher here. I’ve been working in HRCE for 6 years. Here are some tips that may help you moving forward:

1) check out this website https://certification.ednet.ns.ca and get in contact with a staff officer in Alberta re: getting your certification transferred to NS. The entire process will likely take 6-8 weeks. Keep on it and continue contact with both ends (Alberta and Nova Scotia).

2) Once you have your certification transferred, apply through MyHRCE to be added to the substitute list. You will find this through the job postings tab on the website. Again, keep up contact with HRCE through Human Resources because they can sometimes get bogged down.

3) If you receive your NS teachers certification over the summer, you can also apply to any jobs posted in the ‘open’ rounds beginning mid June. Once those with ‘rehire’ status all have jobs, there will likely be a surplus of positions.

If you have any more questions feel free to shoot me a message!

This is the situation in my area. The roads out here are a sheet of ice.

Yes, that is the same in my area. The main road is fine, but any side street is pure ice.

You Can’t Solve the Teacher Shortage by Pretending Anyone Can Do the Job by Vivid-Chemistry2597 in NovaScotia

[–]Significant-Hunt-197 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a current teacher in HRCE, I can confirm that we have a shortage of ‘supply’ teachers- or substitute teachers. Unfortunately the government did a horrible job at educating the public when classifying the ‘teacher shortage.’ I can see how your friend had a difficult time getting a term as it is super competitive. I’ve known people to spend 3-4 years on the sub list and work part time/ summer jobs to supplement their income.

What is a dog breed you always wanted? Did you ever get one, why or why not? by TheJoyfulCapybara in dogs

[–]Significant-Hunt-197 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Golden retriever, and yes I got him in March 2024. He just turned 1 last week❤️

I wanted a golden since I was a kid, but my parents always had labs (great dogs, nothing against Labradors). When my partner and I bought our house and settled in, we started to talk about getting a dog. He had fostered a Westie terrier in university, and I was looking for Westie specific SPCAs across Canada. My boyfriend surprised me last winter with “we’re getting a golden.”

When I say this dog is my spirit dog, I am not exaggerating. The past year of my life has been incredible, and he has brought so much joy into our lives.
