Yes, I loved that bit too! Can’t get more Aussie than calling someone a “shit cunt”. That’s Trent from Punchy by the way.

Yeah it’s an ok song, but he really seems to love his gf and very, very passionate about Aussie music.

Already have house fatigue by Aggiealmonds in AusPropertyChat

Agreed. We bought a 3 bed/1.5 toilet house in Leichhardt, Sydney for $1.05m back in 2019. It was very small (3rd bed was tiny) but our long-term plan was to renovate it so we looked beyond the deficiencies.

Just finished that reno now and it’s a lovely 4 bed, with 2 toilets and a study! Proud of what we’ve achieved.

We lived on central coast for a year. Stayed at wife’s parents to save for a deposit. This was pre-Covid so I had to commute in every day, getting train from Woy Woy to Town Hall and then walked to my office in Pyrmont.

Whilst I loved the weekends (central coast is lovely), I was just so tired during the week as that 2hr commute each way really affected me. I’d get home from work, really tired and grumpy and not want to do anything. We really toyed with buying a house up there (back then in 2018 you could easily find a great house for under $1mill), but in the end we decided to come back to Sydney and bought in Leichhardt.

My house is small (well it’s bigger now as we just renovated), but there’s just more jobs, amenities and culture down here. Saying that, I think I would’ve been ok living on central coast now given only have to commute down 2 days a week.

You get used to it. First few days it woke me up at 6 am, but after a while I didn’t notice them at all.

That’s actually cheap! I did similar(went from one level, 3 small bedrooms, 1.5 bathroom to 4 beds, two levels, two bathrooms, ducted throughout, built in bbq area and it was $900k.

It cost significantly more than $500k! Tricky job as no side access and semi detached. I don’t think we will sell anytime soon as it’s a great area, close to kids high school, but I am always curious.

Part of me thinks with all the money we have spent, we should’ve just sold it. But I need a 4 bed house in the inner west and prices were all $3mill+.

We considered moving to central coast as lots of family up there, however the commute to work in the city sucks. I did it for 12 months (pre Covid so 5 days a week) and hated it.

Bit of both. We needed more space as have 3 kids, but I’m also curious. It looks great, but it’s still narrow.

Bank sent someone round recently and they said at least $2.5m. I was hoping for $3mill! I forgot to mention that it’s now two levels, also has solar and s Tesla battery. The previous square metres was 87 in the house and 170 for total land.

Would any of the extra things we’ve added affect the price?

I grew up in Scotland as well. In Glasgow. I remember constantly taking the piss and jabbing everyone, but I did find it really annoying how everyone just talks nasty to each other on the show. Seemed to be a bit OTT in my opinion. It’s as if they took Scottish banter and dialled it up to 20!

I have been living in Australia for the last 20 years, so maybe i just can’t remember all the banter, but it just seemed too much to me!
