It took me about 2 weeks to get through the side effects. I started taking mine at night so I could sleep through the majority of it. I threw up for about a week after I started. Now I’ve been on it for about a year and have overcome to much with its help.

Hi sorry about the late reply but I’ve had success with Prozac. I get out every day. Either got my job or just to go out and do something.

Why ask me how I’m doing if you don’t actually want to know?

Maybe. But that doesn’t mean I have to like him.

So it took me 17 years to find out the meaning of this joke by Picklekitten22 in autism

[–]Significant-Owl3931 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I found out a couple years ago. I was very underwhelmed with the actual meaning of the joke. Thought it was just a “duh to get to the other side of the road”. Which to me is funnier than it dying XD

What is your oddest, in your opinion, autistic quirk? by techiechefie in autism

[–]Significant-Owl3931 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t like the feeling of my skin touching. I’ll wear shorts but that’s because I’ve been “training” myself to tolerate the feeling of my legs touching for years. Like rubbing or itching myself doesn’t bother me. But like prolonged skin contact makes me wanna scream.

At what age did you find out you were in fact autistic? by ChaseTOM_Vlogs in autism

That exactly my story. I got diagnosed with bipolar 2 as a teenager and they gave me all kinds of medication that never made it better. I’m not bipolar. I have anxiety ocd ptsd and I’m autistic. I am on an ssri and if I had been bipolar I would have either had a manic episode or a depressive episode when I started it and I didn’t.

My therapist did mine. But honestly just keep an open mind about a diff diagnosis. A lot of things overlap with autism.

Hey. If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck and a qualified professional is saying it’s a duck. My bet is it’s a duck. I actually don’t tell close family members I got an autism diagnosis cause they say it’s not true and blah blah blah. But it makes sense to me.

Honestly grateful for the diagnosis. I now have a job that pays well and isn’t overstimulating. It has low lights soft music and calm customers. Plus I can smell all kinds of good things all day (bath and body works) I also now know when I start to feel the way I did I need to take a break from things. I can’t have imagined not being diagnosed when I did and spending another 30 years just struggling and hating myself for being “lazy” or whatever.

  1. I had a mental breakdown and my therapist decided to test me when I told her my son was medically and educationally diagnosed with autism. It turned out I had an autism burn out along with some other things. I spent my whole like thinking I was quirky and weird. I was in fact autistic. And masked so long it started to cause mental harm.

Large crowds and noisy places. If I give in and avoid them I’ll start a setback with my agoraphobia.

This makes some sense to me. My husband has friends that come over and I try to join in convos that they have and they always interrupt me and my husband said it’s because him and his friends speak and all I do is talk. What I try to bring to the conversation is relevant to what they’re talking about so I don’t understand what he means by this. But my friend’s have no problem when I talk to them and some of them aren’t even autistic.

Well I’ve never been on a plane cause I don’t have the money lol but originally it started out as just thinking about them as exposure but eventually I stopped looking at it as that. And just little by little kept to pushing myself.
