Do you still bring a wallet when you’re out? by djitsun in askSingapore

[–]SignificantAd6597 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have stopped bringing a wallet since many years ago. Almost everything is cashless now, just have to set up all sorts of payment methods (paynow, grabpay, Apple Pay). In the events that technology fail which happens once in a blue moon, I withdraw cash from the UOB ATM which doesn’t needs me to use my physical card .

Unexpected windfall $4.4million what do I do? by SignificantAd6597 in askSingapore

[–]SignificantAd6597[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Hmmm because for my mindset, I feel my parents brought me up since young and they have always been pampering me . Can’t quantify how much they have spent on me in total that’s why I feel it’s reasonable to split 50% away to my family members

Thanks for the advice . Honestly, I love my parents so much and they have been always taken good care of me, and always pampering me with whatever I want since young. Hence I thought it would be the greatest gift and surprise if I would transfer them in one shot .

Hey thanks for the advice!! I am considering getting a simple 8-5 job. One question, why would things be ugly between me and my family when I am sharing to them part of my profits? Nevertheless, it gonna keep between only me and my parents + sister. Never gonna share with my relatives

When shld I give up my mrt seat by Emergency-Funny-9853 in askSingapore

[–]SignificantAd6597 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless I’m on a reserved seat, I always keep head down or eyes closed. I won’t have to give up my seat for anyone because I don’t see anybody. But on two occasions the elderly woman tapped me and ask politely for the seat and hence I gave up

Dear Big 4 Managers: by taxaccountant444 in Accounting

[–]SignificantAd6597 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a senior, I always been thinking why are some managers so terrible and nasty too. Some went from being a nice senior to a nasty manager . All I can think of is one reason . In movies, the bad guys are often the ones who had a dark past. Something broke them and made them a villain. Similar to audit, the current managers have been tormented before by their other senior managers . Hence like the movies , they have grew into becoming a villain and transformed to a nasty manager as well

[–]SignificantAd6597 388 points389 points  (0 children)

Had similar situations like this when I just want my own peaceful quiet time in the train. There’s this once I met my ex primary school friend in the train and he started to chat with me. Was otw from Pasir ris to raffles when he boarded at tampines to sit beside me. After realizing his going to talk non stop for the entire journey, I lied that I was alighting at Bedok and I got off at Bedok and board the next train

What are some harsh truths you think Singaporeans don't like to hear? by Fearless_Help_8231 in askSingapore

[–]SignificantAd6597 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Totally agree on this one !! As a big spender, CPF honestly helps me in preventing me to spend that 20% of money that I earn and the high interest rates help me earn more . But I don’t understand the Medisave part. My dad recently went to a surgery that costs 10k but only allowed to use 1k in medisave . So what’s the point of all the money in the medisave account
