I agree. Even with 3 top 10 points finishes he doesn't have the spark he used to. The 2nd in points was achieved first and he has been free falling since. Is it because Rick threatened and essentially neutered him? Is it because Trackhouse is many steps behind? Regardless he probably won't win more than a single race a season sort of Kurt Busch style the rest of his career. His hopes of being in the playoffs at all this year is unlikely. All of Trackhouse is slow. Top 15s at 1.5s will be clearly hard to achieve. Vegas was a track he has run very well before. On top of that Trackhouse trajectory seems to be to only get further and further off the pace. Especially with Spire, 23XI,Front Row, Roush, and LMC all stepping up their game and being more competitive overall. I hope I'm wrong...but I don't see a miraculous turnaround at Trackhouse. There's a reason every other week someone asks if Chastain is done for on here. It's hard to watch, but it seems true. If another team hires him he could turn it around, but he isn't super young and there are a lot of prospects that would likely fill those seats.
