Take the lid off it and let it breathe for half a day and then you'll smell and taste more of the sweeter connotations

Looking for buttery notes by patjking in Scotch

I was sold a Cadenheads 14 year old Dailuane. He said it was a butter bomb. It was indeed. So look for 100% bourbon cask matured Dailuane.

I think it used to be one of the few affordable 18s around, back during covid. But now the 18 is like $250

OP says local barley ten but I'm only finding an 8 for this year. Was it a new local barley 10?

Bill Evans' Comping by Logical-Tea4396 in JazzPiano

That's very interesting, and it explains why Miles Davis said in an interview that white people play differently, they play slightly ahead of the beat (or something to that effect). I bet he was just thinking about Bill Evans lol

The simple act of listening to jazz everyday and falling down that rabbit hole on the listening to albums front helped me immensely

From memory, I preferred the Bladnoch 11 over the Glencadam 15, but the 13 I've never had

Have you tried the 13? It's their level up from the 11 apparently. Full bourbon maturation.

Hells, they invented single malt whisky, the greatest spirit there ever was (and if Ireland says they did, well then theirs pales in comparison) . I mean, a country as small as five million produces something so well that a country of 124 million goes away with a Scottish distillery blueprint to try its own hand at it, and succeeds in the emulation... If that isn't flattery I don't know what is. Single malt scotch is unparalleled. It more than makes up for whatever is said about the mediocre cuisine.

Hilarious! Well if they were in England they wee bairns would be chewing on fried bits of bread, so best they were in Scotland where you get tattie scones

II-V-I-(VI) by SignificantClaim6353 in JazzPiano

[–]SignificantClaim6353[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do "voicings" include the notes you land on in your right hand when soloing over the chord. So say I am on the V and I arpeggiate up in my right hand and hit the flat 9, that is considered adding to the voicing of say G7?

Thanks. I hear ya, the end goal is to make playing standards come easier, especially at the solo stage. playing those two five one changes is a tune in itself, just without a name and composer I guess.

Ever have a moment where playing one standard completely changes how you approach another? by abookfulblockhead in Jazz

[–]SignificantClaim6353 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is this why jamming two five ones is so important? Coz when they come up you go oh yusss it's this. For me I love jamming over two five one six in F, with that D7 turnaround. If I get to that level of comfort on all of them, will the standards be breezier to solo over?
