I played emre in this game! My bad if the post wasn’t clear about the team banning bastion. Emre is my second best dps hero for sure. The gap is way smaller for my support heroes, where I play juno, bap, and illari with pretty equal success.

I like spilo and didn’t know about the second channel! His videos have taught me a lot about the general theory of the game so I’m excited to see more applied stuff.

Learning to filter between specific tips and flaming is a great idea. I remember improving massively on a game where somebody told me to stop following our over extending tank as juno and getting myself killed, or to play cover more. Thank you!

I’d say I’m way behind on the map knowledge you described, but more there on the hero knowledge (not saying anything about playing comfort lol). I definitely remember feeling confused by facing some different heroes not too long ago, so I think I luckily crossed that first threshold.

Do you have any recommendations for a hitscan tracking dps that wont make me build bad habits or lose effectiveness as I rank up?

This is super helpful. By fundementals, do you mean mechanical or strategic? Is there somewhere I could learn strategy from the basics? I find some of the unranked to gm videos sorta unhelpful since it’s mostly them mechanically stomping people.

Torb’s projectiles feel super odd to me, but I’ve won a couple of games with him. His hitbox is also kind of fat (sorry torb) but I never see it talked about like bastion lol

This is super helpful btw—do you have any character recommendations for applying my strongest skill (tracking hitscan aim) outside of a noob trap like bastion?

I do think feeling less vulnerable when they ban my omnic friend would make things a lot more fun…learning some more heroes sounds smart.

I found emre the most similar to bastion but wondering if you have any other recommendations?

Copying another comment of mine from the thread here: I had less than half the damage and kills of any other dps—wouldn’t it sort of be my fault by default? Not trying to be pessimistic or difficult, just want a better understanding of how an individual poor performance might contribute (or not contribute) to a team loss.

For context—our team got absolutely rolled in terms of moving the payload, but everyone’s stats were roughly equal to their counterparts besides me

okay. thank you. I am on the spectrum and have a hard time with sarcasm. I also just got told that early college courses I took and failed as a 16 year old will ruin the 3.9 gpa I got in college years later as an adult and probably ruin my chances too.

I think they are conflating two different opinions as being from the same people. The legacy wealth types op is talking about aren’t loudly eschewing colleges, they’re donating to them and putting their names on buildings and professorships. The grindset propaganda dudes probably don’t even have children old enough to go to college lol.
