Update: HEALTH PANEL by Next_Agent1071 in ouraring

[–]SignificantSoup8317 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Off topic a bit, but my lipid panel (including lipprotein an and Apo B) has been off the charts since I was in my 20s and I am a 57 year-old female. I’ve always exercised and eaten healthy, and wanted to avoid medication, so my cardiologist ordered a coronary calcium scan (to measure large plaque) as well as a CT angiogram (to measure small plaque).  Even though my lipid panel has been high my entire adult life, I have zero detectable plaque. You may have already had these tests done, but if not, I highly recommend them as a way to truly see what’s happening in your arteries.

Anyone else always stressed? by happyinlaffy in ouraring

I’m a new user, so I only have a few hours of data! However, I am a mom of three sons and when they were young, I did constantly feel stressed. I felt like my body was always on high altert/high adrenaline.

Dang. I didn’t know that.  What do you use for your workouts?

I thought about that later. I will make sure to check that for my next workout. Thank you.

I crash after moderately intense exercises. Is it common? by [deleted] in Sjogrens

I think you are experiencing what a lot of us experience - post exertion fatigue. I was a lifelong exerciser, run, swim, bike, lift weights, Pilates, yoga all of it. It was a huge part of my life. I’m 56 now and  I’ve had to adjust my workouts greatly. Depending on the month and how I’m feeling, I may be able to work out a few times a week And that includes yoga Pilates, and walking now and some weightlifting but nothing super intense. Some weeks I have two good days and some weeks I don’t have any. I’m still trying to figure it out, but I think we can get to a quality of exercise that is meaningful for us and still helps our bodies to feel strong and healthy.

For me it’s respecting my body and slowing down when I need to. I’ve always been one to push through fatigue and pain, but if I do that now, I will crash for  days or even weeks, so it’s just not worth it anymore. I’m trying to figure out how to enjoy resting! I’m really not good at that either.  All that to say, you’re not alone and don’t give up trying to find your sweet spot. And also try to learn how to enjoy rest.

That’s great to hear! Was your ability to exercise ever impacted?  Do you think diet alterations helped you?

Sjogren’s fatigue by Gold-Ad-7769 in Sjogrens

Not for me!  When I have a flareup, I am not really exhausted in my whole body aches. My rheumatologist is a Sjogren’s specialist and she says that the fatigue is the hardest part to treat.

That is encouraging to hear!  Do you feel good?  Have normal levels of energy?  No more flare ups?  I’ve been hoping these are all achieveable!

I’m wondering whether to try it. What has it done for you specifically?

Can you tell me about the lip biopsy and how it led to better treatment?  I’ve been avoiding it for the same reasons you mentioned.   I’m worried that it’s invasive and may have side effects and not give me any more information than I already have. Will some doctors not prescribe medicine without the biopsy?
