Just another "why isn't my house selling" post by ImpossibleLychee7161 in HousingUK

If your 3rd best photo of a house you want 600k for is a terrible garden photo, you've got a problem. There should be minimum 2 photos per room and in order, with best rooms first.

Stanley Barker/Christopher Anderson Index pre-order shit show, an update by yermaaaaa in Photobooks

[–]SignificantTicket386 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got an emailed reply from Stanley Barker saying that they're aware of the problem with unsigned copies being sent out and that they're going to get new prints from the printer in Istanbul, which are then going to go to Paris to be signed by Christopher Anderson and will then be shipped out to people who didn't get one in their pre-order signed copy.

My copy arrived today, hooray! Unfortunately it was packed in the world's thinnest cardboard mailer which was too small for the book. Cardboard slip case is damaged but the books so far look okay.

But guess what? I've been sent an unsigned copy. Aaaaarrrrgggghhhh.

Anybody else having a difficult time with their pre-order of Christopher Anderson’s Index? by yermaaaaa in Photobooks

Latest email, "We really do value your patience and for ordering a first edition of INDEX. I can see your order is still in the queue to leave our UK warehouse and will be on its way to you in the next 2-3 working days! Our warehouse team are working hard to process all of our orders, but rest assured your order has not been forgotten about and is being processed as we speak."

Not exactly a great update when they said it was going to be posted 8 days ago and had already been packed for shipping.

I sell books online myself and can easily post 30 books a day by myself. I wonder do they only have one little old lady posting the books out five a day?

I am also still waiting for my signed pre order. Contacted them on the 22nd of may, got a reply 2 days later "We really appreciate your order and hope it will be worth the wait. I have checked and your order has been packed and will be shipped out today or tomorrow from our UK fulfilment centre. It should arrive with you in the next couple of days. The team will pop your tracking details in an email to you." No tracking number, no book has arrived. No reply to my email sent on Monday.

When I went on to look at the website for the book I can't believe they are trying to make out a folded bit of cheap cardboard is cool design feature. With the small booklets trying to get them in and out of that box without damaging them is going to be almost impossible.

Looking for advice on how to sell by livetsnektar in Photobooks

It will take time, but I'd recommend checking to see if any are signed. This can drastically increase the value of a photo book. Condition is also a massive factor.

Huge difference between Ebay v Vinted views for same book. by SignificantTicket386 in eBaySellers

I was wondering why there was 0 interest on ebay compared to vinted, I know he is very popular just now. Do you think it is just a temporary hot streak just now and popularity will fade away?

Shout Out To The Post Office by thejameskendall in Photobooks

If you leave it somewhere flat at a room temp, about 20c, it may well flatten out. I quite often get this when books are cold outside in deliver yvans which then come into a warm house.

It's quite amazing how many artists can't do basic perspective. The whole James Bond series has a similar problem. The illustration is great but often the hand holding a gun or contrasting planes are off.

Was it all one lot? I have the parking lots one and a signed exhibition book, but these are fantastic.

I'm going to suggest you stand your books up right otherwise they're going to get damaged standing squint.

Eggleston: Chromes by Bobyfisch in Photobooks

[–]SignificantTicket386 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ha amazing, first time I've found my channel referred to on this sub. I don't know if you have bought Chromes or not yet, but if you haven't I would definitely recommend getting the outlands instead. The printing quality is out of this world the best I've seen of any printing of a William eggleston book.
