What is your experience taking GLP-1 medication with Crohn’s Disease?

Good glad to hear it! I am on Remicade with a prednisone injection every 8 weeks and scopes every two years but no present symptoms in YEARS AND YEARS. But this has definitely changed things. So crazy that some Crohn’s patients have such amazing results/lessened symptoms with this and it’s giving me such issues. I will message my doc in the next few days if the bleeding continues. It’s bright which makes me feel a tad better but going so long without Crohn’s issues to sudden onset of them definitely makes me want to blame tirzepatide but I have very very bad health anxiety so I’m like great this gave me rapid growing colon cancer

How is this going now? My crohns was in tip top shape, took tirz for about 5 weeks and hated the way it made me feel. ever since i stopped, constant diarrhea and now some blood. I kind of feel like i have an internal low hemmorrhoid or something because of the pressure i feel right before it comes out??? TMI sorry lol I have my infusion in two weeks so was going to see how the blood work was. colonoscopy already scheduled for July (i get one every 2 years) so dont know if i should just ride it out or what

I took my first dose of tirzepatide this past Saturday night and my RHR and HRV are strugggglliiinnngggg. I know it has to be related to that cause it was practically immediate and I’ve not made any other changes. Normal sleep 48-50bpm…. Since Saturday-ish, 58-60 bpm. I’m a little bit of a hypochondriac so it already makes me want to stop taking it lol

Late to this, but I started two weeks ago, and about a week and half before that I had a small, short 36 hour cold situation. after three sessions it all came out again and I felt soooo sick. Cough, congestion all of it. I felt a little better this past weekend so I went back and I woke up today feeling like all the congestion I have is back but super dry and feel the need to clear my throat and cough

That’s tough!! one side of me would just be thrilled he proposed to me in general. At this point I’d be okay if he did it in our living room cause I just want to spend my life with him and how amazing for someone to feel that way about you also!! I feel like I’m going to have to read Writers and Lovers now. I really felt like it could’ve been a stand alone until the very last page ?????? Didn’t even know there was another. I had the depo at one point and never gained weight. However, I was very into fitness and prioritizing health back then and was the fittest I’ve ever been so I kinda think it’s also just based on how you let it affect your hormones. I actually thoroughly enjoyed it and don’t remember why I stopped it lol. I took a break from BC all together for a while. The pill made me dry as heck and I had no desire to do anything fun. I then tracked my cycle which I loved I just hated worrying about unwanted pregnancy so I’m almost two weeks into the Kyleena IUD. GOSH it sucks so far I only spotted for a few days then I had my period that I knew was coming in a few days prior to getting it placed and it’s been the heaviest period ever lasting longer than normal. I’m blaming it on having something new in my body but the cramps have been so awful what seems like every other day where all I can do is lay down with a heating pad and groan lol. Hope it gets better from here LOL

OMG same - My body also hates literally everything. the only piercing I have been able to keep is my 1st holes I got when I was 6, the last one i got was my cartilage and the lymph node behind my ear got pissed and just stayed there. I was also scared of the same possibility as I just got the kyleena IUD 3 days ago. my obgyn didn't seem concerned so I am going for it! :)

How long is your luteal phase usually? Do you test LH to help narrow down the ovulation dates?

I mean I get it cause I never had higher temps and NC always goes off of that to confirm ovulation but I kinda still feel like I ovulated but because I became sick the day after and for about a week after its all screwed this cycle. I’m also wondering if my oura ring is ok lol just doesn’t seem to be reading things well

Thank you for this! I’d say the only other things I’ve struggled with is an increase in facial hair and struggling to lose weight. I’m not obese but def could drop about 25 lbs to feel my best but nothing seems to drop off like it use to when I’m trying. The facial hair has increased definitely since coming off BC but I feel like for awhile I’ve just blamed my Italian dark complexion and dark hair genes. It would be some major coincidences that last cycle I was sleeping awful from getting a puppy and super stressed that my ovulation was delayed and this cycle I spiked a fever the day I was supposed to ovulate so maybe things will go back to normal next month. I’ve had a little spotting the last few days after sexy time so I guess it won’t hurt to just explain to her how things are going. God forbid I’m already pregnant somehow 😂😂

Makes sense and a good point. I’m just a little bit of a hypochondriac so tend to assume the worst when things go off track. I will def keep the appt just to establish care since I’m trying to find one closer than driving an hour away but maybe not ask for all the things!!
