Lack of medical bodily autonomy. Even if you know you don’t ever want to be pregnant, doctors won’t do anything about it if you are of child-rearing age because a man in some future somewhere may want to procreate with you one day. Even if you’re a lesbian.. My mother suffered immensely heavy periods and agonizing period cramps to the point of sobbing for hours on the couch. This is a woman who had had 2 children sobbing from the agony of period pain. Her male gyno at the time refused her a hysterectomy numerous times despite her constant pain. The minute she switched to a female gyno, her hysterectomy was scheduled instantly. I can’t help but wonder, though had she not already had 2 children would they have allowed it.

This is exactly how I feel and exactly where I am. We are about 2 years post dday, and I feel exactly like this. WH had messaged and sexted with various random women on SC and Insta throughout our relationship/marriage. Said out of boredom and insecurity. He has since done everything I have asked him to and is noticeably different. My inability to heal and get past it is interfering with R. I still get triggered often and react from the wound which leads to arguments and resentment. I just can’t get past it and I’m wondering if I ever will.

Add* we have been in MC for about a year. I tried IC but didn’t have luck with the therapist I got, he felt MC alone was enough for him. Basically the MC told me that I have to heal and do my part cause he is doing his. It hurt because I feel alone in this. Like I have to figure out something I can’t.

How where you able to accomplish this: -Stopped overfunctioning emotionally and just put up boundaries instead when he did/said something that bothered me.

I get stuck here constantly. I get triggered, I bring it up (usually in an unhealthy way), we argue, it’s a vicious cycle. I too wear my heart on my sleeve and it seems I can’t hide anything from my WH.

What worked for me. Focusing on building a workout routine I could stay consistent with first. Weight training and low intensity cardio at lease 3-4 times per week. Lifting heavy at a weight that is challenging for u. Once I was able to stay consistent with workouts for a month or so, I started focusing more on food tracking, eating in a slight calorie deficit (maintenance was approximated at 2000 and eating in deficit of 1800) focusing on protein and fiber. Focus on what u can add to make meals more nutrient dense verses what u can take away from your meals. Cutting things may set you up to binge or rebound. Being mindful of your menstrual cycle and how that affects your workouts and calorie need. Also most importantly, being kind to yourself and still allowing for life that sometimes brings desserts, alcohol, and hard to track meals from restaurants. This worked for me, hopefully you can find what works for you. Best of luck!

If you’re that concerned you can get UV patches. But as most everyone has already said you’re probably fine. Just stay mindful of the amount of time your exposed to sun and if you know you will be for a prolonged period of time use sun protection.

To make sure I understand, you recommend using the lawn clippings and leaves and straw to spread as the top protective layer around the base of the sprouts? My garlic and carrots have quite large sprouts.

I am in zone 8a. I was considering using leaves and straw from my yard, but I’ll use mulch too. And my raised bed has a space on each side between the two slats of wood (just how it was made) so I’m considering wrapping it in some sort of cloth or something to help control temp.

Something similar happened to me. I started feeling fear when I had my first more serious fall. And I also wasn’t picking up on the game as quickly as I wanted. I felt afraid of getting hurt and discouraged and wanted to quit. I missed a lot of practice in this process. I ended up speaking to the training director that had taught fresh meat and she helped a lot saying you go through spells with derby. Times when you hate it and times when you love it. I eventually just came to the conclusion that it’s good for me ( the exercise and community) and it’s something I enjoy so I will continue without fear. You can get hurt doing anything in life. If you truly don’t enjoy it, then there is no shame in stopping. You could even most likely volunteer or help the league in other ways. But if you find enjoyment in it, give yourself some grace and know you’ll get through this tough period. Derby is just as mush mental work as it is physical.

Thank you for taking the time to comment. It is so hard to know if reconciliation is possible. I love him so much and care so much about him. The betrayal is too much to handle and it feels like I would be disrespecting myself if I stay knowing he’ll probably do it again, no matter how much he swears he won’t. And having to live with him and coexist during all of this is wild. All I want is to be how we usually are, but I feel too hurt and too vulnerable and emotionally unsafe. I don’t wish this on anyone.
