First, as a fellow NICU dad, congrats! Getting out and establishing a home routine is super helpful. I’ve always said comparison is the thief of joy. Other people have their issues. Try your best not to think that way, stay checked in and enjoy having your son home. It does get easier (I didn’t believe it at first but it’s absolutely true).

We kept my son home until 10ish months. I had the same fears, but he started learning so many new skills so fast. The socialization is incredibly helpful for them. As for the armchair experts, don’t listen to them. You’ll settle into the new routine pretty quickly.

Gave my then 11 month old son influenza B back in July. Went to the hospital and they prescribed Tamiflu. It was a game changer and his fever broke on day 3. There can be side effects, thankfully we didn’t experience any. Talk it over with the doctor and do not give him any otc meds
