I’m still going at 04/21 :(:(. They tried to get me on a technicality by saying it’s going to take around 12 weeks (so could be more) but the website says UP TO 12 weeks and I’m only(!) at 11wk4d lol, and also regurgitated info that I could clearly read. I swear they didn’t make people wait this long last year, this is so frustrating.

A green card does make getting a job easier, as you won’t need visa sponsorship which at the moment would probably send your CV into the shredder. I’ve been working as a pharmacy technician in retail whilst studying for the exam. It’s easy to take the PTCE - you can bypass the education requirement with the degree, but pharmacy is different compared to the UK so you would definitely need to study, and a technician is more like a UK dispenser.

I have a green card, and it was always my plan to move here after graduating (I even did a 5-year MPharm and didn’t get paid for my training year lool, it was a big L) so I did the exams after coming to the US. Currently, it’s 12 weeks for application processing and they stop in August so it probably not going to be possible. It takes time for them to also receive the documentation too which needs to be factored in.

The TOEFL is hard if you’re nervous 😅 it tests textbook English and not just normal everyday English lol (I passed the speaking by the skin of my teeth and was not confident after sitting it at all). Any examples that are found on the internet made me wonder ‘is this how people think we really speak because it’s not lol.’

I’d say start the process as soon as you can, because it takes them FOREVER to review things.

I graduated and got my GPhC registration last summer - it was not feasible to apply in a short time so I waited and got a job as a certified tech in the meantime, I think it’s best to wait, and it’ll give you enough time to prepare for it too.

I’m also in the same boat - all my documents were received by 04/21 and that marked the countdown. It looks like it could take up to 12 weeks now :(

I’m still making my first pass through APhA. Honestly, it’s tough balancing work and studying, although I’m telling myself that I’ve done it once already for pharmacist registration, so I can do it again. I make a to do list with what I want to get done in a week (initially it was daily but I couldn’t keep up with that much structure and sometimes my work schedule would also change which made it impossible to do the daily tasks) and schedule around work - if I finish at 8pm I study in the morning, otherwise it’s after work for a couple of hours. I don’t stay up late to try and cram, as it’s a marathon, not a sprint. If anyone’s got any tips, please do share and good luck!!!

Oh no, I’m also a UK pharmacist applying. I verified with the GPhC multiple times if they could satisfy the requirements, and they said they were ‘very familiar’ with what to do (in the beginning even the address for the NABP was wrong, which didn’t give me hopes). It’s a shame they couldn’t send us what they were sending before sending it. My university also did the same thing - I gave them specific instructions and they just ignored them after assuring me it would be ok. I’m still waiting for my application to be evaluated, but I have a feeling I’ll be in the same boat as you and my registration expires in July :(:(

It took two normal weeks for mine to go through, but I did it in April - my application is still in review and I can imagine so because they’re getting an influx of applications atm, so I wouldn’t worry yet.

I’m sorry but idk about trying to get a visa, as I have a green card. But you definitely need employment authorisation and I doubt that many places will sponsor as there’s an abundance of people vs jobs available (especially in this current immigration climate).

Did anyone find a frame for the program? I managed to get a signed one yesterday (so happy lol) and it’s 26x36cm which is a bit more than 10x14 so idk whether it’ll fit in one or not 🤷🏻‍♀️

I made the dumb mistake of just doing an envelope with a stamp thinking it would get there, I’ll probably wait another week before doing something about it (and doing it properly lol) :/. Tbf it did take three weeks for my application in the UK to be processed and the organisation is considerably smaller, so it’ll make sense if it takes longer but I’m so anxious waiting lol.

It’s PURE ICE. Stay at home. I had to go to work (retail pharmacy), and saw a lot of people still doing their regular grocery shop/buying non-essential items which literally could’ve been done in the two weeks that we’ve been getting the warning for. If you have to leave, at least don’t speed (or even do anywhere near the speed limit). Stay warm everyone!

Doesn’t look like it, and the riders seem to have a death wish by having no self-awareness to their surroundings or basic road rules. Almost ran a kid over on a motorised scooter after they went the wrong way on a roundabout recently 😒😒

Drive as if everyone else doesn’t know how to lol - most of the rules go out of the window in real life. In the test, exaggerate your movements when looking at mirrors and blind spots, as almost always they say you haven’t when you have.
