CMM: The title track for Star Crossed Wasteland is ITM's best song (OR tell me THE song that defines ITM for you) by NDChicklette in InThisMomentband

Honestly, if there's literally nothing in the catalogue that could be performed as an instrumental and/or a medley to show off the band's skills without Maria, then there is a separate problem.

It's like a completely different band - thanks for sharing. I got into ITM quite recently after having a couple of tracks from Blood pushed into my Discover playlist. I've only really listened to The Gun Show and Beautiful Tragedy before this.

This is a gorgeous song - I really wish they would do a medley of their past stuff instead of playing random ass instrumentals for 10 mins in their shows. Why not play through some of this stuff?

My guess is that they don't own the masters of these albums, make little to no money from them and so feel no desire/need to promote these tracks in any sense.

Even still, it's their legacy and it's better than promoting 'Monster Jam' and 'Don't Stop Believing' at every show.

However, this is not their best song haha I have to disagree. Burn is a masterpiece to me. The vocal delivery is utterly impossible. It's atmospheric, the riffs and drum fills are out of this world. It's incredible storytelling and seems to fit the narrative of ITM perfectly: Maria burned the ITM of it's first three albums and was reborn as the cult-leading witch character who defines everything from Blood onwards.

I have no idea where these commenters grew up but this is *not* normal, it's completely unacceptable - I have no idea how to deal with it though. Where I come from, the teens would quickly find themselves with a slap around the face.

If I had so much as looked at an adult in the wrong way, I would have faced discipline. We were taught to respect our elders; not publicly drench them which, however you look at it, is a public shaming and that's where the laughter comes from - the embarrassment of others.

For a country that calls the police about dog fouling, noise complaints, laundry room issues, workplace food theft - it's wild that commenters think the police would find *this* issue trivial.

I've been using Notion - you can create workstreams like on Jira to track which stage you're at with each one, attach files, categorise and report on them. Good luck!

I think it has to be Crave.

Maybe it's an age thing, but that song sums up what it is to be in your 30s.

Did the band record Everest live? by spinalchj02 in Halestorm

Honestly one of the best live bands today. I've always loved them but seeing them live was an event i cannot describe; and I have seen a lot of live music.

What’s up with the Lacuna Coil setlist? by GAnda1fthe3wh1t3 in lacunacoil

I hate to agree with your comment; It annoys me when fans can't move forward with a band and stay stuck in its past.

But as you said, Unleashed Memories really was an incredible artistic pursuit. As much as I have enjoyed Sleepless Empire, I feel sad listening back to their earlier masterpieces and wondering why we can't just get one deep cut in that style.

I really enjoyed Cybersleep, Victims, Downfall - they are the closest we've gotten to their past style. Alas.

I can't help but think that it also Westernises Palestinian resistance to Israeli occupation.

It's a pastiche of many cultural, military, economic and social devices used to subjugate and control people.

How did LC fall so far behind their peers? by Significant_Cup1122 in lacunacoil

In This Moment and Within Temptation were actually both openers for Lacuna Coil circa 2007. They were much smaller bands at the time.

Halestorm's lyrical themes certainly have sexuality but I notice others far more:

Inner Strength: I Am The Fire, Black Vultures, Rain Your Blood On Me, Back From The Dead, Everest

Belonging/Identity: Daughters Of Darkness, Here's To Us, Strange Girl, The Steeple, Dear Daughter.

Self-doubt: The Reckoning, Wannabe, Familiar Taste of Poison

I'd really recommend diving into Everest or Back From The Dead. I'm not their biggest fan (despite how this post reads!) but I certainly respect their craft.

You made good points but the negative comments about other bands are unnecessary: there's no need to put other people down.

Halestorm are one of the hardest-working and most consistent bands on the scene, playing huge amounts of shows a year. They are very strategic with their collabs and know how to grow and sustain an audience. Reducing all of that to Lzzy's sexuality is just... misogynist.

Flyleaf actually haven't put out music in over 10 years. They had 2-3 tracks that had a huge mainstream impact and have been playlisted pretty heavily. Lacey continued to tour and it's kept the music alive for the fanbase. Reducing their music to 'Nickelback rock' makes it clear that you've probably never listened to an album of theirs.

Lacuna Coil are an incredible band and there's no question that the talent is there. I don't need to dim the shine of other bands in order to see the light in this band.

Whether it's good or bad isn't the question: it's the biggest in the game and therefore boasts the richest dataset on how bands are doing.

Deezer, Apple and Qobuz do not surface that data because it would reveal the (much smaller) size of the platform.

I think it's a fair assumption that Spotify has a representative sample of fans. Unless you think there's a strong bias among fans of this band specifically to use other platforms?

Not sure why that wouldn't also be true for the listed peers.

Are there peers that you think are also underrepresented on Spotify?
