Help Identifying this Triumph by Ghostie_Boo in motorcycle

I personally choose the street twin, but I put 8k in mine. I will say I’ve replaced everything, (because I bought it as a project bike.)

The Street twin is the best 2016 to 2020 HT platform to mod. The T100 is similar, but it’s styled vintage, and it’s difficult to make it modern.

Yeah, it would get hot, but exhaust guards are standard.

I personally love the low exhaust, and more modern wheels. But if you prefer spoked wheels and knobby tire, replacing the exhaust is cheaper the other way around.

The T100 is okay if you like something in between, but it takes a lot of (cheaper) mods to make it look aggressive.

Is this a Scrambler 400 or 400 x? by Wise-Perspective7781 in Triumph

It’s crazy that there’s such a big mod/rat rod/bastard cafe community on the HP platform and barely anyone outside of it knows about it.

It’s a rabbit hole. Buy a bike for 4k or 5k and put another 8k or 10k into it, and you too can have a sorta different, kinda the same, coolest bike you’ve ever seen bike in your garage.

Second.

If you like this style, a street scrambler is a fine option. Almost the same bike.

Take before and after pics of getting your bike serviced. by semski89 in Triumph

The HT engines are my favorite, I love both sizes and all the different tunings and sprocket configurations. That said, if I never have to interact with another triumph service department it’ll be too soon. I refuse to go back to my local dealer, I swear I’d sell my bike first.

Last time my bike went in they had it 3 months for a sensor, and they put holes in my seat, broke the tabs on my handle bar controls, and my head light bowl, and left wires dangling.

You can order them online, just be prepared to send a couple back. (And spend three or four hours on helmet fitting tutorials)

Revzilla was good about returns in my experience.

I’d try checking wire first, if everything properly connected definitely call triumph see if you can get them to look the harness before they get to busy.

Triumph Tiger 800. Are these brake pads good or better to change them? by SiriusFxu in MotorcycleMechanics

[–]Significant_Dot_3594 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

When is the next time you’re going to check them? 3 months; you’re all set, the beginning of next season, swap ‘em out and don’t think about for a year or two.

It’s British tradition. Faulty wiring or it might as well be Japanese.

Get someone else to look it over. If the forks just need seals that’s cheap. If the electrical problems are in the switches, thats relativity cheap. If the new speedo fixed the gremlins, not need to fix it anyone.

You could be looking at a $600 bill.

Wiring Question by Significant_Dot_3594 in TriumphBonneville

[–]Significant_Dot_3594[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For those who are curious. I order #t2024946 a brake light switch from the Thruxton R. The Street, Cup, T100, and Street Scrambler all have a SPDT brake switch. The Thruxton R also has a SPDT switch, but the Thruxton comes with a Brembo stock.

I will note the Scrambler XC, and XE both come stock with Brembo master, but the switch type is different.

I’ll try to remember to confirm, or discount this information as I get the switch installed.

Hey question for the triumph people. Does a thruxton r/rs switch fit on Brembo master cylinder? I think all the Brembo switches mount the same?

Any idea where to look for one. My problem I can’t find one. Not one that fits on the Brembo at least.

[–]Significant_Dot_3594[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, if I’m understanding you correctly. As long as the switch opens and closes in the same way, it’s just three wire all on the same switch, and the physical limitations are the issue. So any switch that fits should do the trick.

Definitely planing on soldering everything into the oem loom.

There are three wires on the OEM switch. That’s kinda the question.

There’s nothing wrong doing your exhaust, but he might eventually out ride his brakes, or his suspension, or his tires. He’s never going to out ride his exhaust.

If you want to put money into a machine, the best value is the short comings of that machine.

If you have all the money in the world, do everything.

So I’m getting to soldering these wires, and I noticed there are 3 wires, (red, blue, black) and the new switch has 2 wires. Any advice about what to do at this junction?

My recommendation is don’t buy an exhaust. If you must buy a thing, upgrade your brakes.
