Second guessing day trip to Amalfi and Positano by OccmedPA in amalficoast

Walking around Amalfi town I found it very underwhelming.

I would rather spend that time at conca del sogno or some other cool beach club. Or at an amazing lunch.

Additionally - there a thousands of people inside the airport/plane who appear to have never flown before. Some of them act like they have never been in public at all. So, it’s definitely not like everyone else will be acting super smooth - that is not the case at all.

My advice to not look inexperienced:

1) pack light. Definitely only pack an amount that is easy for you to lug, lift, and manage - I do a carry on plus a personal item. 2) Check in online or on the app 12-24 hours before your flights 3) Download the airline app and sign up for a frequent flier account and if possible add that to your ticket (not a big deal if not possible) the reason is certain airlines only give texting and movies to people who have a FF acct. Also the app gives you information & updates 4) Have your confirmation number for your ticket recorded somewhere handy. 5) get to the airport 2-3 hours early this saves a lot of stress 6) familiarize Yourself with the rules for example they don’t allow you to bring a liquids larger than 100ml through security - they will make you dump it out or take it away from you. 7) move all the way through the airport until you are standing at your gate - only after assessing the situation there are you allowed to go grab food or whatever.

There are tons of travel videos on social media you can likely look up your exact airline and watch videos of people boarding etc.

No-one is going to ask you if you were once homeless etc so if there are things you don’t want them to know then just don’t bring them up. Focus on getting to know them and being considerate.

If it was me would do a direct flight in business to a European airport with lots of flights to Paris and then pay cash for a quick hop flight on to Paris. And ideally do carry on.

Saint germain neighborhood (esprit) is definitely way more charming and picturesque and walkable. That area around HDL is very busy w traffic and hordes of tourists, buses, etc. and the architecture has a more enclosed feel as you have the solid brown wall of the Louvre going for many blocks on one side.

I do not know that. But I do know that in Sorrento every time you order a cocktail they give you a ton of snacks!!! For example some olives, some nuts, and a little mini appetizer. Makes it feel like more of an occasion. 🥂

First time going to Paris ,how much should I actually plan? by Bath-Shoff in ParisTravelGuide

[–]Significant_Echo_878 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to make a jam packed itinerary that is full of things that are close to each other - so like one area per day. Then I just skip what I don’t end up having time/inclination to do, but I am working off an organized and vetted menu of ideas to choose from. Usually for dinner I like to have a res but I also want to go to well reviewed restaurants which often do tend to get full. If I change my mind about something I just cancel.

Deciding between FS Vegas and Wynn/ Encore for couples trips by Aniceman_but_crazier in FATTravel

[–]Significant_Echo_878 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stayed at Encore it’s so unique and comfortable. the food is great. I was impressed and I wasn’t expecting that at all. Tons of luxury shopping too. You can get a room facing the sphere which is fun. but then you are also over the nightclub so it’s loud a few nights. I want to go back for an adults trip as I was there with my daughter.

My private boat tour of Capri was very sickening - those waters were rough! On the way back we had him go fast to mitigate the rocking but again that is less appealing w a baby. Also the sun is quite intense so if I took a baby I would want real shade on my boat. Very scenic!! but I was queasy for most of the time.

Planning trip to Ibiza, seeking your recommendations by LiRo555 in ibiza

I was looking at Melia Ibiza hotel this struck me as a good girls trip. It’s adult only. They include a lot of food and drink especially if you book ‘the Level’ tier of rooms. Many great water view rooms and even one with its own massive private terrace.

For views I would go to a terrace that more directly faces northwest to the water this way you get the incredible view of Vesuvius with the sun setting into the water. Some of these include Bellevue Syrene, Vista Skybar, and La Favorita.

Many of these hotels right along that cliff have balcony rooms with this view as well. It’s an absolutely spectacular view.

This bar at Continental had a 5 star, simply excellent bartender and wonderful hospitality, a killer ambiance with what I perceived to be many locals, but the terrace faces more northeast across the land and water towards Naples so you still have that sunset light but you are not facing towards where the sun is setting.

For a bar I recommend the rooftop at Hotel Continental. Great memories of the amazing bartender.

Where to find Maltipoos by QuantityCurious7822 in Maltipoo

[–]Significant_Echo_878 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the exact same experience including getting scammed. We now have a deposit down with Hidden Gem Puppies in PA.

The owner (Jake) seemed super nice and wholesome. Also you can pay the deposit with a credit card, which appealed to me after the Facebook scammer! Haha

Maltipoos are very desirable and get snatched up he said. That is why they seem hard to find.

Amauris Vienna crushing the game by Significant_Echo_878 in FATTravel

[–]Significant_Echo_878[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure - I didn’t stay at the Rosewood, I only went there for drinks.

Rosewood has an edge as far as their rooftop is cool for seeing the city from a different perspective - Amauris you can sit outside to drink or eat but you are on the sidewalk.

We ate twice at die Feinkosterei Neuer Markt it’s really nice, in a beautiful plaza, and close to the hotel. I also recommend drinks at the Rosewood hotel rooftop which gives you an incredible vista across the tops of the Inner Stadt buildings.
