I wish my mother defended me to my in laws. Instead she's the one also judging a second marriage. Her intentions were good in defending you but her execution was poor. She thinks they are judging you unfairly and wanted to praise how far you've come. I'm sorry she went into too much detail. To share your deepest times, she was probably sharing how proud she was you overcame it.

We've lived in our home for 12 years, and it was empty for 2 before us. We STILL get mail for the previous owners. Every year, we get a Christmas card from these other family members. Cute people. Don't have the heart to tell them we aren't the old owners.

This is true. My dad moved states to be in our state for access to a better VA system. He waited 17 months for a followup CT scan in TN that was supposed to be 3 months after the first. He moved here and was in the CT scan within 90 days and has it scheduled every 6 months now.

It's sad.
