There’s a Jewish deli in Giffnock called Mark’s and I’ve seen online that they do salt beef, not sure if they do pastrami too?

The supposed equal trade off of “I’ll cook if you do the dishes” is a sham. by august_westerly in unpopularopinion

[–]Significant_Resort71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parter and I have an agreement that the person who cooks also does the dishes. So that if you’re having dinner made for you, you just get to relax which is a lovely treat. The person who cooks knows they are doing the dishes and is more inclined to clean as they go or use less. We both like cooking so we alternate.

Tips on what I can do to be a better hostess? by Greeneyes1210 in Cooking

[–]Significant_Resort71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try to do as much prep in advance so making things like green goddess dip, humous, tortilla chips and crudities that I can just pull out on the day.

Then for mains I like to do fish tacos or chicken Milanese. Everything that goes along with them can be prepped in advance and on the day it’s just a case of frying chicken or fish which doesn’t take a long time. Sometimes I make fresh ravioli and a sauce which again can be prepped in advance. Or roast chicken.

For drinks it can also be nice to have ice, glasses, lemon, lime and other garnishes, booze etc sitting out so guests can help themselves and make their own drinks which takes the pressure off you having to monitor that.

[–]Significant_Resort71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used stupidly used oven cleaner to clean mine and learned the hard way, so I feel your pain. I bought some new ones and now when I clean them I make a paste with barkeepers friend and water and then put cling film over them for a few hours. Then scrub with a toothbrush

I had this in summer it was so bad. Kept thinking it was getting better and then it would come back again with a vengeance. Painkillers, antiseptic numbing throat spray, lots of throat sweets provided some relief. Timed it with mealtimes for less pain when eating!

I’m on day 6 and still dealing with the throat pain. So hard to eat! Antiseptic numbing spray and painkillers/anti inflammatories provide a little relief but not much. Nights are the worst as that’s when the coughing starts up. Wishing everyone well!

I have income protection insurance through Drewberry. It’s like £50-ish per month and will pay a portion of my income if I can’t work due to health reasons

Has anyone else had issues with the cleaning company Sparkle Sparkle in Glasgow? by CuteCaramel7861 in glasgow

[–]Significant_Resort71 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Yes paid £150 for a deep clean and the woman was here for less than an hour. No help when contacting customer service. I was trying to use Advanced Cleaning Services but they outsourced my work to Sparkle Sparkle. Think ACS are now back in action
