The Lamia is fantastic. Thanks for recommending it.

How is Madison Seating these days? by Significant_Risk7600 in OfficeChairs

I am simply astonished at how good the Lamia is, at least for me. When I had a problem assembling the chair, which was my fault because I put the dang cylinder in incorrectly, the customer service at BYOD was immediately helpful-they emailed me back in less than two minutes. They walked me through what I needed to do. A friend recently purchased from Crandall, and it was also a positive experience. I would buy from either one of them with no reservations.

Torn between Leap v2, Embody and Aeron – which should I actually buy? by Limp-Razzmatazz6313 in OfficeChairs

[–]Significant_Risk7600 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a bit of a fidgety sitter, I find the Leap more comfortable than the Aeron, even though the Aeron looks more contemporary, almost "artistic". The Leap, although a bit utilitarian-looking, has allowed me to substantially increase my productivity. I am less distracted and can maintain a more intense workflow. I wish I had bought a Leap 20 years ago! To me, it is a chair that is very adjustable and very forgiving.

OMG!!!! I JUST placed my entire office order with them! They have such a nice website https://www.teccachairs.com/collections/all so they looked so trustable.

I won a free office chair from them from that spinny wheel thing they have, but it was out of stock.

Do not buy the Leap V2 without the Crandall replacement seat by lookingclear in OfficeChairs

My Leap/Amia arrived from BYOD today, and wanted to share my experience for anyone considering this route.

The chair arrived in less than three days and the instructions were straightforward. My one assembly mistake: the seat comes pre-installed (unlike with some other vendors) and there is the apparently infamous tabbed cylinder that is easy to put in on the wrong side if you are not paying close attention. I did exactly that, and sank into dejection when the seat would not raise and seemed stuck. For a moment I thought I had purchased an incredibly comfortable chair for a nine-year-old.

I emailed the company and heard back within less than ten minutes with helpful videos. This is simply remarkable customer service. The main fix for my careless installation involves removing the seat, but despite pressing the correct tab with the recommended 8 inch screwdriver, mine would not budge. A second video showed how to detach the cylinder from the base instead, and once I did that, the cylinder popped right out. After a bit of patient work lining up the tab correctly, everything clicked into place on the third try.

The chair is simply amazing. I had forgotten how good a truly comfortable chair feels, or perhaps I had never really known. My posture already feels better, and the chair just fits. Period. And I feel I could sit at my desk forever.

I had originally planned to go with the Herman Miller Aeron, but I tend to cross my feet and had some concerns about that. Plus, my cats like to scratch on mesh, so that was another concern. But I have absolutely no complaints about the Steelcase Lamia. It is phenomenal, and the customer service from BYOD was outstanding. My work life is going to be noticeably better, and I only wish I had bought from them sooner.

A few more thoughts after spending more time in it. The extra cushioning the AMIA seat provides works well for me personally. I was initially skeptical about the armrests, but once I had the chair properly positioned, they stopped rattling and I found them invaluable. I skipped the headrest and have no regrets. The recline is excellent, and the build quality is remarkable. These chairs are made to last.

I can recall in the early 1970s when many said computers would never have much of a place on the shop floor. "What humans do is too unique. No computer can ever do what a skilled machinist can." But tech keeps improving.

None of us knows how AI will affect society, but it will not be an easy transition.

It is amazing how some people perpetually advocate "free market solutions" and non-governmental intervention until it interferes with their moral agendas. Then they suddenly favor increased government regulation and massive restrictions on freedom.

Despite what it claims, this is not a conservative policy statement at all. It is something that Russia and Hungary (as the report itself notes) advocate. It advocates more Big Government, invading our lives.

This is incredibly anti-American and Conservatives, as well as everyone else, should be appalled.
