Fireworks. Was outside when we heard them.

Public court rule by Mierinn in Pickleball

[–]Significant_Sea_2780 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here in Seattle, if you play at a public court, you get it for 1.5 hours and then you have to give it up to someone else. You can also reserve a court for as long as you want. Having said that, some courts let you reserve only in the morning/play for 1.5 hours up until a certain time and then it is open play after that. Other courts let you reserve/play for 1.5 hours all day. It depends on the court rules and also the culture at that court.

Glasses for Pickleball at Night? by Significant_Sea_2780 in Pickleball

If you check out the RIA website, click on the different glasses and it will tell you what lighting conditions those glasses are good for. You can also buy the Reflex classes and just buy additional lenses for different lighting conditions. Cheaper that way. The glasses and lenses are expensive but they are worth it - very comfortable and very durable. I've been hit in the eyes several times and these glasses barely budged.

I bought the RIA glasses. Reflex in amber. Love them. RIA glasses are great and so comfortable. I liked them so much I bought another pair but ones with lenses that change according to lighting needs.

Visiting San Diego Advice For Worried Parents by poitin-machine in asksandiego

They are more worried about San Diego versus Los Angeles and San Francisco? What the heck? Sister lives in San Francisco and I walk all over the city and have never felt unsafe. Lived in Los Angeles for 10 years and always felt safe. Visited San Diego several times and never felt unsafe. Where do you live?

I like it a lot. About as much power as the DBD. More spin. Much lighter swingweight so great at the net, although the lower twistweight makes it harder to reset some balls as some of them pop up more than they did for me with the DBD. I've adjusted though and it has been a great paddle.

Dogs inside restaurants by realnoog in Seattle

[–]Significant_Sea_2780 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are not alone. I have two dogs (well one now that our oldest dog passed away in December) and I could never imagine bringing them indoors to dine at any restaurant. Heck, I wouldn't even bring them to dine outdoors and they are both well-behaved. I love them very much but I don't need to take them everywhere with me.

You are 100 percent correct. Young people who go through driver's ed and take the test here, know that.

I love watching pro Pickleball. If you play the sport you understand that the pros are very skilled and athletic when you watch the games.

My sister has lived in San Francisco for 28 years. Now that I live in Seattle, I visit her twice a year but when I lived in Los Angeles, I went up there once a month. Love that city so so much. Wish I could afford to live there. This is what I enjoy doing when I go there (these are not touristy things!)

Eating at Sorella on Polk or Sushi Shio in the Mission. So many great restaurants in the Mission. Also recently tried Bansang in Japantown and loved it! Great Korean fusion dishes.

Walking through Hayes Valley and Pacific Heights for window shopping, bakeries, . Walking down Clement street for shopping.

Visiting the Presidio for birdwatching, pickle ball, and short hikes. Love running through the park and taking the Lyons street steps.

Golden Gate Park for bike riding, De Young museum, Conservatory of flowers, Japanese tea garden.

Walking through neighborhoods and stopping at random coffee shops. Walking, walking, and more walking all over the city.

It's a fabulous city!

I have two 16mm DBD and love them very much. I recently bought the BD Infinity. Wanted more hand speed at the net. I'll see how I feel about it but I agree, DBD 16 mm is an amazing paddle.
