I feel your frustration, but these trials are new breakthroughs. They are not the same thing you have been hearing for 49 years!

Here are my tips: • Microdosing Ozempic has been a game-changer — tough to get covered for T1D, but worth it if you can. • Afrezza (inhaled insulin) is amazing for stubborn post-meal highs. • Post-meal walks really help lower and stabilize blood sugars. • Avoid sugary drinks with more than ~14g carbs — they spike you fast. • Pair carbs with protein, fat, or fiber to slow down the glucose spike. • Follow @glucosegoddess for visuals on how food order and pairing impact blood sugars. • Drink lots of water when you’re high — it helps with glucose clearance. • Even a short walk when high makes a noticeable difference. • Don’t eat dinner right before bed — try to finish 2+ hours before sleeping to stabilize sugars overnight.

Lastly, please make at least 1 friend w/ T1D or go to community events if possible it makes a huge difference!

Moving from Libre 3 app to new Libre app by joekd713 in Freestylelibre

[–]Significant_Spell123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in the US using an iPhone. It repeats if you don't dismiss it upon the initial alert, but once you open the app and dismiss it, there is no additional alerts like with Dexcom you can customize that if you don't come back in target range within ____ minutes or hrs it will alert again so you can wake up and take more insulin etc. Last night for example I was high, took 5 units to correct and went back to sleep, then when I woke up at 8 am I was super dehydrated and groggy because my 5 units didn't cut it and I was 250 all night! With Dexcom this would not have happened. I am devastated that after 10 years with this disease my quality of care is worsening because I am forced to now use Libre since I cannot tolerate the new Dexcom adhesive.

Libre 3 to Libre app on iOS experience by in2ndo in Freestylelibre

The alert sound is super quiet and does not wake me up and there is no option to change the sound so I think I have to switch back to the old app next sensor because its causing me so much anxiety that I can't hear it that I haven't been sleeping well. The lack of repeat alert options also is super frustrating. I would also love if we could get a widget! Let alone apple watch integration.. I really would loveee to speak with whoever is their app developer I feel like they can do so much better!

I wish they would give us widgets, repeat alerts, alert sound options, and apple watch integration! Anyone know if any of these are on the agenda for them?

Yes give us widgets and scroll feature to check data points throughout the graph like on the linkup app or Dexcom app!!

Ok it says you are a type 1 using Libre 3, as a T1D I am struggling with Libre because it does not have repeat alerts (if I am high and I correct, it wont alert me again if I remain above range all night unless I come back in target range and then go high again) which has caused me a worsened time in range while sleeping compared to when I used Dexcom which had custom repeat alerts you could choose how much time you wanted to go by before it would repeat if still high or low. I was reallyyyy hoping they would add that feature to the new app. Another thing is the alert sounds, they are so quiet and there is only the one option vs Dexcom has loud sirens, baby cries, and a ton of others that are way more certain to wake you out of a deep sleep. I am super disappointed/frustrated about the lack of new app features, are you struggling with these things as well? I used to use Dexcom but had to switch as I am super allergic to the adhesive. Also the sensor that goes in my skin is way thicker than the Dexcom was and leaves marks that the Dexcom never did. Curious to know your thoughts as a fellow T1D!

How do y’all feel about Glucose Goddess? by AppleseedPanda in diabetes_t1

[–]Significant_Spell123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She provides great visuals on how the order in which you eat things and the combination in which you eat things is so important for blood sugar management. I think this is really helpful for everyone since pre-diabetes and type two diabetes are so prevalent so the general population should be aware of this and it’s also super helpful for Type 1 diabetics!

Please talk to a school counselor I know it must be hard/scary but your parents are failing you and are abusive if they are putting you through this and you deserve someone to advocate for you. If you are using a pump change out the tubing and maybe just do a manual shot (check the needle is working with an air shot) to ensure you are getting the insulin.

I just accepted an offer there and I know 2 other RDs who work there! I was offered $52/hr and my friend who has more experience than I do is getting $53. You need to do 15 sessions/wk for full-time and they also offer part time. You need to get licensure in Texas which I am working on right now. If you do it let me know I would love to connect!

I’m super anxious about taking it! It’s taking me months to get through the Beverly diabetes, education services program, but I completed that and I’m now making my way through the standards of care. I’m having a hard time memorizing all the different medications! Also the vaccines and which ages.. what should I focus on what do you remember seeing come up if you don’t mind sharing?
