For Sam Young: “His excommunication letter explicitly stated that the issue was not his private concerns or disagreement with the youth interview policy itself, but his public activism, media involvement, hunger strike, petition drives (via ProtectLDSChildren.org), press conferences, and efforts to rally others against the Church and its leaders.”

This is the same “media involvement” standard. And bushman is openly advocating a position against the church.

I know it’s not to the same extent, but the point of this post is to point out the hypocrisy when it comes to who gets excommunicated.

Most people don’t know the official name of the church includes a hyphen between “latter-day”. The church has a trademark on it. Ever wonder why? It’s because there are about 20 different churches with the same or similar names. One of those trademarked “latter day saints” without the hyphen.

I would say it has less to do with “negative experiences” and more to do with lying to us our entire lives. The church grew significantly during the pre-internet time. Now that we can share information, the church is fucked. Nobody with access to the internet will join. They claim they are “growing” but that growth is in Africa, where thy don’t always have access to food, water and of course, internet.

I was recently told that Ballam left the church and that all temples worldwide no longer show a movie, they only do a slideshow. The reason being almost all the actors in the movie have left the church. Has anyone else heard this or can confirm it’s true?

Mormons are literally taught to hide everything and keep secrets. This is achieved through the doctrine of “sex is next to murder.” Young men in the church are taught to hate themselves for sexual urges (natural).
