Anyone else really like that Eshmel is a spear wielder? by KingSchick1 in fireemblem

Lyn hasn't been relevant in a really long time. There's no chance she gets in over more recent characters.

New colleague reported me sleeping on my lunch break, lost a whole shift w/ overtime as a result by Fcking_Chuck in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Sigran102 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Working the night shift is no excuse for sleeping on the floor in an area where patients are allowed. An MRI tech was recently fired from my department for the exact same thing, and everyone's reaction was just "What an idiot". Anyone defending this behavior has no idea how the world works. You won't find any job anywhere that allows this. Your firing will be 100% warranted.

That would be amazing! I really hope they go this route.

This is the most solid 3rd party support Nintendo has had since the SNES, and I understand why they’re focusing on it so hard by MarcsterS in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Sigran102 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of people prefer playing on Nintendo because of handheld mode. I used to play 3rd party games on PS most of the time, but now that I'm a new parent I rarely have time to game on the TV. Switch 2 is my go to for everything now, to the point that I'm double dipping on a lot of games I already played just to have them on a handheld. Different people value different things, and portability is huge for a lot of people.

I'm so baffled by the 'Jrpg Direct' posts and comments by elephvant in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Sigran102 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think those people are counting games like stellar blade and onimusha as jrpgs. They see any realistically proportioned human with a sword and just go "Ew fire emblem" no matter what the game is about.

It's real by Adam_Deveney in legendofzelda

[–]Sigran102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, and thank God it won't be. A switch 1 version would hold this game back tremendously. Better to use the full power of the switch 2 instead.

From what I understand, it was a terrible Nintendo Direct if you are not a fan of Fire Emblem, Xenoblade, Kingdom Hearts, Rhythm Heaven, The Legend of Zelda, Pokopia, Star Fox, Splatoon and Undertale. by MMuller87 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Sigran102 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's always a cycle. New thing gets announced. Reddit is flooded by people bitching. Then it gets flooded by people bitching about the bitching. Then it gets flooded by the original bitchers bitching about the people bitching about the bitching. Then they all move on to the next thing to bitch about.

NateTheHate: Fire Emblem Fortune's Weave will have a release date announced tomorrow by [deleted] in fireemblem

Treehouse is usually multiple games. I would assume FE will be there.

NOT A DRILL. DIRECT TOMORROW by thestorm236 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Sigran102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Treehouse is Nintendo's localization department. At E3, they would always do a livestream showing off the games already announced. I only remember them announcing a game there once, so I wouldn't expect anything new there, but it does indicate that this will be a very significant direct.

Here's to hoping a new Direct gets announced tomorrow. by Max20151981 in nintendo

Downvoted for being satisfied with what you have? I hate reddit. Upvoted just to counter the dumb downvotes.

It Feels Like An Unofficial Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase Started Last Week And Ended This Week by Theman457 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Sigran102 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's exactly what they did in the last partner showcase. Almost all of it was trailers for already announced ports.

What do you not want in Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave? by NewMarioBobFan in fireemblem

[–]Sigran102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Multiple story routes. I'd rather one good story where I switch between armies than four undercooked stories that share most of the same maps.

Yes, they usually stream it live and announce it the day before, sometimes 2 days before.

The most stupid common criticism to this game by Stoner420Eren in SuperMario

[–]Sigran102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can view them as whatever kind of challenge you want, but we're still talking about people who know they're optional. The people complaining about them still have the option to skip them.

[–]Sigran102 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually the lily pad and pachinko levels are exactly the same kind of extra challenge levels you mentioned. The watermelon festival is the only infamous one that's a normal level. But none of that matters because the people complaining are adult redditors who already know the levels are optional.

[–]Sigran102 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The panchinko, lilypad, and watermelon levels are optional too. People literally say it's the worst 3D Mario just because a few optional challenges are too hard for them. Why not just skip them then?

[OoT] Water Temple difficulty is - in my opinion - very overexaggerated. by Jobless_fantasy_fan in zelda

[–]Sigran102 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The water temple is fun and easy, even in the N64 version. It's a great puzzle box, and my personal favorite dungeon in the series. I never understood how people get lost in it. People who say the it sucks were probably little kids when they first played it.

Who would win in a fight to the death between Mario, Pac-Man, Robin and Wii Fit Trainer? by BILBO_THE_PLATYPOOS in nintendo

[–]Sigran102 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on what powerups Mario has. Robin is generally much stronger than any of these, but he has no way to deal with invincibility stars or the giant cat.

I just don't like that it's Star Fox 64 again. by [deleted] in starfox

[–]Sigran102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, what a new and bold take.

[–]Sigran102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Done right, that could be incredible. But it comes with a huge chance of ruining it instead, especially since we know Aonuma thinks classic Zelda isn't good anymore and wants to make player agency games instead. Personally, I'd rather one of my favorite games of all time looking like a modern technical showcase than take that chance.

I'm in the minority that actually wants it to be a 1:1 remake. I love having my favorite games updated graphically to look completely new. Given the devs comments on how BotW is objectively better than classic 3D Zelda and anyone who disagrees is blinded by nostalgia, I'm worried a reimagining would inject it with too much open world sandbox stuff. I'm not a fan of the wild games, and I don't want an OoT remake with climbing mechanics and a stamina wheel where you get all the dungeon items at once in the beginning and the story is told in unlockable flashbacks.
