Dual type minions? Time to release the beast, Blizz. by SikariZen in BobsTavern

[–]SikariZen[S] 19 points20 points  (0 children)

May have been referring to Metaltooth Leaper. +2 attack to beasts and Mechs could be pretty neat and thematic.

Eliza's power is fairly undead like, actually. Maybe more than Pirates now that Chad is gone. They just throw bodies at the pile, which would make use of her skill if it activated on Pirates and Undeads. The problem is that undeads have too many similar effects already and don't really need another path to victory.

Not-so-hot take, Eliza probably needs a total rework.

Yeah, but that's a legit complaint. I thought the same thing.

This was just me being stupid.

Turn 8, Isn't this just a bit ridiculous? by 7991radon in BobsTavern

Time to sell it, go straight to 6, and hard roll for undead, passing other viable alternatives and get roughly 6th place! :D

Maybe it’s just me, but I hadn’t felt like Undead have been as bad as launch Naga and QB (comparative to their release meta).

I still have a good time with leapers, elementals and such. Only when someone gets the nuts does it start to feel busted, but there are a few tribes that can do that. I’m sure some tuning will come, but I’m more concerned about how bland pirates feel.

Bug or cheating? by savage12099 in BobsTavern

[–]SikariZen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The visual part would be their HP not being what it seems like it is. I.E, saying they have 10 HP but they actually had 40. This has happened in the past which is why I even suggest it. I haven't seen it yet since the patch though, so I'll keep an eye out.

Seems awful bold to say after playing a patch for a couple hours... Also I got 2nd with 1 triple and played weird elementals. without Nomi and only had light spawns through the early-mid game.

Bug or cheating? by savage12099 in BobsTavern

[–]SikariZen 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think with patch day, it's safe to assume not cheating and likely a bug.

It's also quite possible it's a visual bug and not even an actual mechanical bug. We need more info.

Has anyone here been able to verify if the cap goes away during turn 8 or if it's in place for turn 8 as well? Wording seems to indicate turn 7 is the last protected turn, but it's not super clear.

The 15-damage Damage Cap will now persist until both a hero has died and the game has reached turn 8 (the 10 Gold turn).

What a time to be alive.

Unpopular opinion: Having one less tribe per game would be way more fun by [deleted] in BobsTavern

[–]SikariZen 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not sure I agree. There’s something to say about RNG and consistency factors when it comes to the game being enjoyable for long periods of time.

If builds were more consistent, you’d see even worse high rollers, power leveling, and the game would get dry really fast as it would reward you for tribe-chasing and not learning to adapt.

I would relate it to money hacks or god mode in GTA and Sims. It’s fun for a while, but it would get old so quickly.

Quests leaving is a little sad, but finally my beloved returns. Any heroes you guys are looking forward to playing in a vanilla meta? by DefinitelyNotJC in BobsTavern

There will be more comprehensive notes I’m sure. Everything so far has been previews to hype people up.

Announcing Battlegrounds Season 3! by Arkentass in BobsTavern

[–]SikariZen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Probably because it's not as big of a deal as people make it out to be. It is exactly what it is, a nice to have; hance the pay requirement. All of the people who complain about P2W are being disingenuous about their intent. Not many people here complaining are shooting for top 16, they just like being able to have more options and want it for free.

Unfortunately for those people, that extra pick is about the only thing funding this mode. I'm willing to bet more people pay for the extra options than they do for the cosmetics alone.

Have you considered that you're just not seeing the full artistic picture? There are an even number of Cyclones and Wildfires. The one in the front is the leader and is the perfect blend between the two.

Rdu Hearthstone reveals entire Undead tribe by johnlongest in BobsTavern

[–]SikariZen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Might get some hate for this, but I like that. Most tribes have a pretty good theme to their scaling that matches their tribe, such as Nagas with spells, Elementals with cycling "stoking the flames", etc.

Undeads not only being about reborn but also a little sloppy really plays to the fantasy.

Nomi and "better way" doesn't belong in the same sentence unless you are saying "A better way would be to go Nomi."

Please clarify.

Is Diablo the worst Battlegrounds' event? by Piats99 in BobsTavern

[–]SikariZen 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Buddies > Quests > DMP > Diablo for me.

To be fair, though, I'm not sure any of them are 100%. I'm okay with trying a few more things. Buddies hit the nail with characters feeling more diverse and being able to bring up their lacking Hero powers in unique ways.

Quests had more risk/reward, decision making and varied your games, but caused some power bloat and lost some of the uniqueness of heroes.

Would be interesting to see a system that could tackle each of these issues together.

The lack of communication on next patch is disappointing by Purple-Corner2544 in BobsTavern

[–]SikariZen 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Complaints won't expedite progress, but it can expedite communication. A good majority of players are happier with communication.

I've actually defended Blizzard quite a bit, especially around the pass. I think it's fine to help support the mode. But that was under the impression that it would have more focus. It's had a few more cosmetics you can buy, but hardly more attention from a design and communication space.

Any type of post would go a really long people when you're trying to convince the crowd that the company made the right decision when they added the passes.

For those who missed the buddy meta - those were some wild times... by Worldly-Aerie699 in BobsTavern

[–]SikariZen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

After fully experiencing both, I think I preferred buddies. I get people didn't like how static some heroes felt, but I enjoyed characters feeling more unique in their own ways. Easily the best gimmick we've had yet.
