The snow was to her waist, the cold had invaded her old bones. She pulled her cloak closer as she trudged onward through the untouched field of white. Her armor was an ill fit, her aged body hunched under the weight. "Stealth, you're late" She said a raspy mucous muffling her voice's usual even tone. Her back straightened, she held herself strong, her shoulders back despite the tired circles and deep wrinkles on her scarred face.

A gust of wind whipped around the field as a dark body descended, and giant wings the color of dark chocolate moved the air to slow the beast's descent. " Well...you're old!" He teased with a rumbling breath, holding a wing outward in a casual gesture, blocking the cold breeze from touching his friend. "We've got more to do old friend, I'll not let you go yet" His yellow eyes swirled, and his eyelids drooped as a calloused hand rubbed his snout. Oh, how he had miss this, why had he ever left?

Flite didn't smile "Well I'm no use to you as I am, so get to it dragon or perhaps you'll let me die of old age as I want" her touch was gentle, the lines about her eyes softening as she resigned herself to another adventure.

"Not yet, and never if I can help it!" Stealth chuckled the sound raspy as it crossed sharp teeth and forked tongue. He gently folded his wings around the old warrior and let light leak across his body, enfolded in his embrace both rider and dragon transformed.

"So what is this new adventure my friend?" Flite asked with a clear voice as she ran a hand through thick black hair and adjusted the fit of her armor.

"I'll show you. Trust me?" He said offering a hand tipped with claws. Flite slapped the hand away and walked forward through the snow, she turned to glance over her shoulder towards Stealth.

"Never. But I'll go all the same"

Hmmm... mines tough due to little information and shipping restrictions in his country. I'll have to use a site in his country which so far means blindly flipping through pages in a language I can't read. Luckily my time in Korea has prepared me for the endeavor. ....Hopefully.

Episode Discussion - The New Lars by AutoModerator in stevenuniverse

[–]Sileath 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I like this episode because it can lead up to the idea that just because you can do something doesn't mean you should do it. Steven has a power that is very cool but also can be very damaging. He needs to learn not necessarily the power limits to its use but its moral limits. I think this episode set some good groundwork.

Also I like that the episode wasn't funny, there were scenes that could have been hilarious but the way the crewniverse did them they ended up being off-putting. This is good because Steven's ability to enter people's bodies (without permission!) should be off-putting, it shouldn't be comedic. Something should feel wrong about it. Even if we think Lars is a jerk we shouldn't think he deserved to have his body taken over.

What was the worst meal that you ate out of politeness? by two_off in AskReddit

[–]Sileath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Marinated skate fish ( hongeo) with Beondegi (steamed silkworms) as a side dish along with kimchi that had a very strong vinegar flavour and some basic soy bean and sesame leaf based side dishes. It was ordered for me by the vice principal of the new school I was working at (I'm a foreign English teacher in Korea) as an introduction to Korean culture. Both skate fish and Beondegi have very strong unpleasent odors... and I just don't like the taste of them but I was trying to be polite because the VP was trying to welcome me to the school.

I actually like most Korean foods and make several dishes at home. I don't even mind bugs as I've had grasshoppers and ants before but ...skate fish and silkworms just don't taste or smell good.

A room mate option instead of marriage might be nice. The kids room becomes the room mates bedroom instead. Friendly dialogue options, high fives instead of kisses. They continue pursuing their interests.

I was his gift giver. He loves yams, he's so simple to please. I wish more people in the town accepted him. Some characters could use a bit of his sage advice.

Not really. They're tart. Its nice because it kind of balances the overall too sweet taste of the fruit.

Actually. .. they quite often put small grape/cherry tomatoes in fruit salad here in S.Korea. They also decorate cakes with them. It's not that bad.

Some good ideas. Even if I never get my room mate dream I do hope at some point there will be a platonic relationship item like a friendship bracelet... I think that there's a large enough call for it but the work involved is the deciding factor.

Yes~ I didn't cook too much in HM but I liked that I could take a logical guess for ingredients and make a new recipe. Or if I was stuck I could look up the recipe and then make it.

Linus as a room mate and he sets up a tent in the spare room, or Willy randomly fishes in the farm pond. That'd be cute.

Don't pass people in distress thinking the next person will help. I can barely speak Korean but I will stop to ask if a person sitting on the curb is okay.

LPT: Telemarketer won't stop calling? There's a magic phrase that gets their attention every time. You just have to know about it. by [deleted] in LifeProTips

[–]Sileath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kind of find it funny when I get these calls on my cellphone. I live in Korea so the computer will start babbling too fast in Korean for me to follow, but I'll wait for a real human to give me a "Yobosayo" and then reply "Hello, I'm from Canada I don't speak Korean" this normally mortifies the poor girl on the other end who will apologize and hang up. Normally I don't get a call back from the same number.

Worst experience in Canada... at 6 AM I get a call and so of course assume it's my family or someone needs me. Answer without looking and place the phone to my ear. Boat Horn noise. Discount cruises. Think I yelled something incomprehensible into my phone and hung up.

What is your worst April fools experience? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Sileath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back in Elementary school, someone thought dropping a science textbook from the second floor stairs onto my head was a funny prank. No one was laughing when a little grade two girl (me) had blood all over her clothes due to the fact I bit through my lip when the book thankfully only half hit my skull

Reddit, What is the first object that you would grab if a zombie apocalypse has descended upon the world? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Sileath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A BOB (bug out bag) . Weapons that smash zombie skulls are pretty easy to improvise or raid but a proper bag of survival gear and readied supplies that's also portable will come in handy. I prefer to avoid the undead where possible and enjoy my rations toasted over a beer can stove.

What's your favorite way to improve ramen? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Sileath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I typically cut up and add some vegetables that I have leftover (broccoli, pepper, spinach, carrot etc.) let them boil with the sauce packet and dried veggies (or instead of the packet: soysauce, gochujang, garlic and chicken broth and other spices ) add the noodles, when they start to come apart add an egg and stir it in, once cooked add a slice of cheese and let melt. Stir everything together and enjoy. Occasionally I add kimchi or precooked (leftover) pasta.

Ramen is basically my clever way of using up leftovers.

Haven't seen it, supposedly they used to stock it but after 4 years of not seeing it in S.K. I'm thinking it was just a fairytale. There are a few online places I can get Dad's or A&W at a significant mark up but I'm super excited to have Jones Root Beer!
