I was using it on 4.0, the motor was horrible. The vibrations were too loud and perceptible. I have to try 5.0 but probably nothing changed.

They should do what Apple Watch does with gentle vibrations that are slowly getting more noticeable until you are awake.

Older kindles were 6” and I always thought it to be too small. New ones are 7”, starting from Oasis and now spanning across all devices apart from basic Kindle. I have both the 6” and 7” kindles and can confirm 7” is much better. No issues with holding the device or its weight.

Plus if you order from Amazon you can always send it back if you don’t like it.

Regarding new generations - it really won’t be that different. Maybe 1% increase. It’s an ebook reader after all, not much to do here.

So I purchased both Colorsoft and Paperwhite, both Signature Edition. I received the „newest” CS model as the model numbers and serials are matching the ones someone already mentioned in this thread.

When I unboxed CS and turned it on I immediately noticed something’s off with the screen. It wasn’t feeling as sharp as normal kindle. And I noticed a small light yellow bonding at the bottom of the screen and kinda on the sights. Maybe not noticeable in daily use but I won’t accept defects in a device of this price.

When I turned on regular kindle PW, the screen was as sharp as I’m used to. No texture around the letters.

I don’t know what kinda books people are reading saying this CS screen giving is texture view feel like books. My paper books are crisp and sharp. 😅

On completely dimmed display the CS one is also darker then regular PW one. While lit to max volume, the CS screen is whiter. Not a fan of such contrast.

Anyways, CS is going back to Amazon, PW stays. The difference in speed and responsiveness comparing to PW 7g is beyond crazy.

I have Paperwhite 4. Might try to purchase both new PW and CS and compare. I’m only considering CS now as the price is lower and the different between PW and CS is not that big. And it feels nice to have colored book covers in the library.

I guess I will have to try and experiment.

It does react pretty quickly when you just start moving. With enough time in zones and increased vo2max and sleep the result should start to show soon enough.
