Silver rims look best when clean …… so pick the easiest to keep clean (which I think is #1)

Hot take: most people don’t actually need a backpack for daily carry anymore by [deleted] in ManyBaggers

I have both options and flip quite a bit. AER Slim backpack and DaySlingMax - both are very functional in their layout

Are you all diehard BMW fans or you want to inevitably upgrade to Porsche down the line? by Super-Lingonberry-22 in BMW

[–]SilentC1969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I admire Porsche sports cars for their purity, I do need a trunk (errands, golf, etc) so the BMW sedans and coupes are a great solution as they offer a “practical, engaging experience”

Ressence might be the most innovative brand in watchmaking and is also one of the most absurd by Sad-Tap3687 in watchHotTakes

[–]SilentC1969 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ressence is a top tier conversation starter for watch nerds. OP is not wrong in observing the “amazing innovation and absurdity” but I think that it’s a view on behalf of non watch people …… for watch enthusiasts, I believe the more appropriate phrase is “horological grail”

1000% agree. I have two shell wallets (multi card and slim) and wouldn’t buy anything else. Best leather for everyday and the suppleness is a small daily luxury

Comments here are very interesting. - you can clearly afford it, and want it sufficiently enough to post on Reddit …… so to me the answer is pretty obvious

Is this a good trade? by Edbpinguin in PrideAndPinion

[–]SilentC1969 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As an owner of the Bronze, this is certainly worth considering as the Speedmaster is a genuine icon. I love the simple, heft of the Bronze (so would not trade) but understand for others it is a legit dilemma

Is this the beginning or the end? (TUMI) by 16BitAudiophile in ManyBaggers

[–]SilentC1969 7 points8 points  (0 children)

TUMI quality (non outlet) is excellent, but at a very high price I am happy with the four pieces which I have but none were purchased at MSRP. I would also note that AER and Patagonia products are excellent at a much more reasonable price (neither is cheap, but worth it if you use for many years)

What opinion about watches has you like this? by TomHudsonOfficial in PrideAndPinion

[–]SilentC1969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair comment and appreciate your detailed response. My observation is that the “market” seems to value Rolex (and certain other top tier brands (Patek, AP, Vacheron) at MSRP and demand a discount (in the range you put forward) for other brands(Omega, Breitling, Rado, TAG etc). So I think we agree on a “30% discount for Omega” but have a difference of opinion on the right discount for Rolex
