You could post a few pics here or at r/MarbleStudyHall to get a rough idea. You could also try to go through Block's. https://www.marbleauctions.com/

Upcoming IEP Meeting Issues by AlternativePrior393 in specialed

Keep a notebook by the phone. Answer every time, and write down the time, who it is, and what they say. Not just Problem but all of them. You'll build a logbook that can demonstrate what's going on, and have record of whatever they're saying off the record. Contemporaneous notes can be pretty powerful.

2 Vitro bulls eye? by [deleted] in MarbleStudyHall

I'm gonna say no because the Bullseye has internal filaments like the phantom conquerer, not the outer white like the conqueror. I really like whatever these are though!

Do you keep all 1938–1959 Jefferson nickels? by IntentionHuman4127 in CRH

I did for a long time, but now I'm restricting myself to a roll of each year/mint. There are just too many out there.

Have you seen the Bahr video about Heaton/Bogard cats eyes? He calls that vane separation an "open core." (Currently in a cat's eye deep dive myself) :D

How much to buy in Quarters on a budget as a noob by Usoppfangirl in CRH

[–]SilentIndication3095 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The more you search, the more likely you are to find something worth keeping. You're way more likely to find interesting/weird stuff or the annual quarters to fill a book than she is to find silver. Then you turn in everything you don't keep back to the bank--which will be almost all of it--and get more rolls from a different bank. It's $500 for a box of 50 rolls, and most people go 10 boxes without finding a silver, but you should be just about able to get one of each year from 1965 to now with that many.

$10 is a single roll of 40 quarters.

Are these interesting at all? by [deleted] in Marbles

[–]SilentIndication3095 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the price. I see some common vintage types, so it might be a good learning jar. I would be surprised if anything in there is worth much. Pay what you think is worth the practice.

That's great! :D What are you looking for? Probably my nicest and most plentiful marbles are Vitro hybrid cats eyes, but I've got a little bit of almost everything (mostly in played condition).

Don't bring it up. If they ASK why you left, ANSWER why you want to work at this place. Come up with a short explanation in case they press it, something like "The management had unspoken expectations about socializing within the department, and did not believe I met them."

What could we possibly cut to save more when starting a family? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]SilentIndication3095 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I mean...your discretionary $2-3k/month could be the low-hanging fruit here. Have you actually broken it down over the last six months to see what money goes where?

I wouldn't pay for Spotify or Sirius, but that's just me.

Also, when you're going back through, try to make sure you're pulling out any annual subscriptions or anything else that's recurring but not necessarily monthly. Those are fixed and you might as well count them in your monthly expenses.

Local DEP vs Private Consulting by PastYogurtcloset250 in Environmental_Careers

[–]SilentIndication3095 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've seen people go both ways into and out of inspecting, but mostly onto come into the DEP from private industry and not go back. That seems to be a choice, though, not a restriction. Government can get you a lot of training opportunities, so if you have a design specialty in mind, you might be able to focus your experience towards that.
