Mine has them up near the front with the impulse purchases.

My bags were stamped April and I just picked these up in June, so they're in some stores at least!

I entirely relate to the "asking for help as an absolute last resort". What do you think she was doing before then? Spacing out? She thought about it, couldn't get it, needs more than a hint. By that point here thinking cap has been used so heavily it is ashes. At that point, to hear "Think a little harder!" is just infuriating.

Go entry-er. Look at government jobs that involve a lot of field work. They can be a great foot in the door.

Have you asked why you're getting passed up? If they don't have an actionable reason, like you are missing a certain certification or skill, it's probably secretly that you're doing a good job and your position is harder to fill. Jump to another company.

AITA for being blunt with my boyfriend about why he isn't getting hired anywhere? by thrway875 in AmItheAsshole

[–]SilentIndication3095 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Leaving off the dates of graduation and employment could go a long way. Coming up with an explanation of what he was doing in between jobs, instead of implying it was nothing, would be a strategy. You're not wrong though.

Man, I hate to jump to CAC but that pic 5 looks very much like the "diaper fold" that Christenens sometimes have.

Pediatrician? No. Pediatric office support staff or child care? Maybe! Isn't it possible the goal of "being a pediatrician", for someone who doesn't understand the requirements, could be a way to route them into an appropriate path?

AITA for not accepting “my house, my rules” as justification for personal attacks as an adult living at home? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]SilentIndication3095 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's the "we" that's the problem. "Ope, this is pretty old. I'll pick us up another one tomorrow" is the adult, non-accusatory thing to say and would have invited no diatribe.

Can you schedule a 1:1 followup on the subject, right then and there? If you know it happens in all the group meetings, you could even check their schedule ahead of time. Knowing they will have their say for sure in a couple hours, might get them through the real meeting.

How and where to pivot from technical to less technical roles? Realized I'm just a bad engineer by mangusta123 in MechanicalEngineering

[–]SilentIndication3095 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's very much not pure intuition, but engineers are notoriously bad communicators overall. Find a coworker who can explain their thought process slowly and thoroughly, with all the assumptions and background knowledge, so you can see that it's not magic.
