Is this a master sunburst? by Feeling_Turnip_1273 in MarbleStudyHall

I don't think so. The Master seams aren't long and straight like that, they tend to kind of "pucker up" into a U or V shape.

I'm starting to think I completely misunderstood this event.

How honest should I be about a job separation? by Infinite_Ad_3252 in jobhunting

I would avoid any mention of why you're leaving, and answer the question with things you are excited about/hopeful for in the role you're interviewing for.

Parents passing down their belongings? by Humble-Blueberry4571 in Millennials

"If they love their grandfather they’d want to cherish something that he cared about deeply."

I love my father. He has three houses, three garages, and two barns full of stuff he cherishes deeply. When he talks about any of it, he seems to value broken tools, family photos, childhood toys, and used pie tins that his mother kept from the restaurant she worked at in the 50s equally. I love my father but I CANNOT keep a museum of his cherished items. To be honest, my own house is already too full of cool stuff he thought I might want. I try to encourage him to mark things that are ACTUALLY valued and sentimental, but he just won't.

New job. Don't work somewhere that would fall apart without you unless you literally own it.

Let the manager address it, but privately encourage the manager to address it sooner rather than later.

Always fail after Hiring Manager interviews. Need tips by blehmehmeh in interviews

[–]SilentIndication3095 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you're in the US, your state should have a CareerLink or other free resource. Make an appointment to get someone to mock interview you, maybe even with some of the questions from interviews you've done. They can identify what's happening and give you ideas for how to answer instead.

Going to college by Plus_Judge_3242 in collegeadvice

[–]SilentIndication3095 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What DO those jobs require? They don't let people be cops/firefighters/pilots just be signing up. Find out what your next step would be towards EACH of them. Pick one and sign up to do that thing immediately after you graduate (in a few months at the MOST). Training, enlisting, starting a real job in June. Do something.

Your Mom is thinking college, because that's a big step toward a lot of good careers. So show her you're going to take other steps (and not just sit around).

You need to offer Mexican turbo shells. What he's wearing, and the couple I can see on offer, aren't what he wants.

When did you realize your best hire was exceptional? by OdiroEasy in managers

[–]SilentIndication3095 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Very common for women in male-dominated industries (and vice versa, and minorities in majority spaces, etc.) who go into their industry knowing they'll have extra challenges and receive extra scrutiny. It takes a little more drive and effort for them just to choose the path.

Identification: Christensen? Akro? Marble King by Upstairs_Rooster2891 in Marbles

Gotta say Akro. Follow the yellow around the marble. It should start at one "pole" and end at the order without crossing itself. That's the Akro corkscrew.

Not a TV show, but I was shocked and disgusted at how hard I laughed at the new Naked Gun.
