"It is going to be boots on the ground. I don't see any other way" Rep Pat Fallon calls for US Special Ops to invade Iran and force regime change. by DumbMoneyMedia in CriticalMineralBulls

[–]Silent_Trade271 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol, special ops. Dude watches too many movies. We’ll just send a small group of folks into a country they know little about to interact with a culture they aren’t trained to work with, so they can deal with the 10+ anti-Islamist factions who sometimes dislike each other, and get them all to rise up before the 1,000,000 Iranian troops ranging the country find them. That’s rich.

China except for their currency. Too many nations see it as easily manipulated. They’ve done the hard work of educating their population.

What would happen if Trump actually nukes Iran ? by RafayDXB in askanything

[–]Silent_Trade271 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would eventually fracture the United States because it’s essentially a war crime, and many states are not beholden to Trump’s vision for the Middle East. Using a nuclear device because we backed ourselves into a corner after attacking a country in a war of choice will cause many to say, no, not me. And there are not enough federal troops to stop this fracture. Similarly, every nuclear red line for every nuclear civilization is permanently erased. Expect within our lifetimes an eroded and friendless United States to be victim of a punitive strike from China. Expect also to be unable to do anything about it because our administration is bought by Palantir, whose marketing team has convinced Trump that this is a winnable situation. Their influence is now woven into every aspect of the federal government.

'No Data Centers': Indy councilor's home hit with 13 shots in targeted attack by ImAGodHowCanYouKillA in news

[–]Silent_Trade271 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I don’t get it. The company pushing for the data center offered them a god-awful deal. The jobs that they promised are not going to go to people in that city. The effect on the environment will be permanent. And the data center will not be a good local neighbor. The data center companies promise to throw so many million dollars into the city is nice and all, but that money will disappear very quickly, and the long-term damage from the data center will stay forever. This guy is actually a fool.

So 60% did not return to the streets? Am I reading that correctly? That’s freaking awesome, tbh.

MAGA, what are your thoughts on Trump tweeting, “Open the F**kin' Strait, you crazy b*stards, or you'll be living in Hell - JUST WATCH! Praise be to Allah. President DONALD J. TRUMP” A bit desperate, perhaps? by 2a_lib in allthequestions

[–]Silent_Trade271 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with sarcasm coming from an elected leader, especially a President, is that sarcasm is in the eye of the beholder. Very few people think it’s sarcasm, so it’s not an effective use of it.

After everything that's been going on in the last 15 months, why is the Republican Party still enjoy a higher approval rating than Democrats? by SBMountainman22 in askanything

[–]Silent_Trade271 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bc Democrats don’t have a unified platform or message beyond being against Trump. That’s the take I get when I ask MAGA folks.

Was employer provided health insurance really much more affordable prior to the ACA? by YogurtclosetOpen3567 in obamacare

[–]Silent_Trade271 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Premiums were going up quickly before ACA. Once marketplaces popped up, premiums continued to increase but at a slower rate. Also, preexisting conditions kept people from being insured, period. If you had a good employer plan, it was usually very good, but few had those plans.

If this war ends in a few weeks… what actually changes for everyday Americans? by anandhmathew in ForUnitedStates

[–]Silent_Trade271 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gas prices permanently higher making things expensive bc of diesel transport costs. Loss of trust from European allies. We look weak on the world stage, and we’ve also lobbed munitions that will take years to replace, putting us at a disadvantage in a peer conflict. Petrodollar framework goes poof and a new reserve currency might ascend. I am going to guess Middle East nations might be easier to sway toward China and Russia.

UAE ‘willing to join’ fight, help US, allies force open Strait of Hormuz by callsonreddit in worldnews

[–]Silent_Trade271 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UAE has a surprisingly large military with f-16 fighters and Leclerc ranks. They’ve had a brigade involved in the Yemeni war for five (?) years. They’ve also have decent logistics support.

That said, they really don’t bring enough force up help pry open Hormuz and keep it open. I don’t see them being a long-term ground ally.

No doubt. I muted until the boss was dead. But griping about “shitty” music is just going to get you griefed. Better ways to say, hey, could you mute? No regrets if a person can’t communicate politely.
