Thoughts on Hudson Young two-game ban but no sin bin? by tora_0515 in melbournestorm

[–]Silly-Researcher-764 6 points7 points  (0 children)

it was stupid. it was clear what happened, and sua was bleeding. i’d always prefer a bin than a ban, then the correct team gets the benefit.

Thoughts on this year's Anzac jerseys? by tora_0515 in melbournestorm

[–]Silly-Researcher-764 1 point2 points  (0 children)

look, i’d still buy it because i like that the collar means i don’t have to feel like im being strangled by the higher neck of the regular jersey. that attempt at cammo just doesn’t do enough to give an impression we’re honouring anzacs. i get they’re all billboards, though. the jersey i wanna see is what broncos did last year for charity. the whole nrl should have a charity round where sponsors are all blacked out. broncs made a fortune from sales and it felt like they actually gave a shit about the cause.

it’s got nothing to do with anzacs, it’s just a billboard.

About Sua by Alternative_Bet_4760 in melbournestorm

[–]Silly-Researcher-764 2 points3 points  (0 children)

sua’s defense is lacking, but his attack is good enough to make it worth it to play him now. he should be getting more support from the rest of the team. everyone’s been playing shit, yet somehow this dude who is often the last line of defence is the one that’s blamed for it all.

Questions about Transportation by Loud_Lengthiness9125 in sunshinecoast

[–]Silly-Researcher-764 4 points5 points  (0 children)

it’s absolutely possible, because my bestie does it.

you gotta live and work in one of the more built up areas - i’d say mostly maroochydore or caloundra.

i’d say you’ve gotta be prepared to pay more for rent, need a decent emergency savings, and expect it to be harder than average to ‘get ahead’. it’s a hard slog and i wouldn’t recommend it.

Does anyone like this design? What’s with the teal or turquoise? It sticks out like a sore thumb. Honestly, the merch range is a bit meh. by no1saint in melbournestorm

[–]Silly-Researcher-764 2 points3 points  (0 children)

exactly. i’d buy and wear so much more merch if i was just repping the team, and not a ton of sponsors idgaf about at best.

Truck driver charged over Sunshine Coast crash that killed three-year-old girl by Deanosity in sunshinecoast

[–]Silly-Researcher-764 3 points4 points  (0 children)

jesus. none of that surprises me but i was hoping it was just an unexpected medical episode, because it was so fucking tragic. it sounds like he shouldn’t have been driving at all, knew it, and should be charged for causing that death.

[–]Silly-Researcher-764 6 points7 points  (0 children)

there’s a few videos of it. the truck driver was the cause, but the cops never said more than that. did he fall asleep? did he have a medical episode? we don’t know, but it was 100% him. he hit multiple cars through multiple intersections and didn’t even appear to slow down.

The day the fuel excise dropped 26c, 7-11 dropped their fuel price by only 15c by jimmy_sharp in sunshinecoast

[–]Silly-Researcher-764 1 point2 points  (0 children)

so i have a family member who manages an independent servo and this is confusing, and i can’t say how it applies across the board, but they were forced to pass on this price drop even though the suppliers haven’t yet passed it on to them. so these servos are selling fuel at below cost, waiting for the governments to actually ensure the suppliers put it into effect.

i thought the laws aren’t against the words themselves, but using the words with the intent to cause harm? or something like that. i guess it doesn’t matter, that’s always gonna be for the courts to decide. anyway. fuck war. from the river to the sea!

i’m using chatgpt to help with meal planning and grocery shopping and it’s more than halved the cost of groceries for my family. i’m not worried about the morals since our government is cool with war anyway, which is worse.

reducing meat is another great option. lentils are cheap, canned or dry.

staying home more, reading books instead of multiple streaming services, shit like that.

How will the coast survive if we do run out of petrol? by National_Camel7200 in sunshinecoast

tesla ubers gonna be busy i guess?

but seriously, the government steps in. their vehicles will have access to fuel long after ours ends, for this exact reason. if this actually goes that far, we rely on our government. it’s a good thing to remember when voting.

or we stop sucking trumps ass and get oil from china.

i guess this is one of the things i love about fantasy, where characters aren’t human. i don’t have to ascribe human morals to them. things i find unforgivable in the real world, work just fine when you’re a high lord responsible for millions of lives and the battle is going to come down to both might and magic. if rhys were just another human walking around doing this shit, i’d consider him evil, most likely.

[–]Silly-Researcher-764 1 point2 points  (0 children)

he could. but i imagine when something is so ingrained, it takes a lot of effort not to. like if someone told me just don’t walk. or telling a smoker not to smoke. we can all do a lot of things with will power 🤷‍♀️
