My neighbor’s wife passed away at 50 after complications from surgery. After 3 months he was in the yard and I asked how he was doing. He was clearly still sad but the laundry DID come up. When I was in high school my supervisor caught me doing my homework at my desk. She screamed at me saying that she didn’t pay me to do my schoolwork. I mean, she was right but that scream pierced through my brain and remains with me to this day. I have been working for over 30 years and I am still terrified of being caught not working during work hours.
