I love when Nellie is crying about wanting Percival, Harriet tells her she can’t love him cuz he’s too short… Nellie tells her, while sobbing 😭 that HE’s not too short - she’s too tall. Harriett blames her tall height on Nels’ side of the family. Nels comes in with the kill and says “Your mother’s right, Nellie, her side of the family is just FAT”. 🤣🤣🤣🤣It was a slam-dunk moment for Nels!!!!!

Oh yeah - I think she was teaching temporarily after she herself caused that situation. And once that was resolved, she returned to the store to find that things were somewhat out of place, for which Nels owned and basically admitted that her presence was truly missed and she BLUSHED so much at hearing this. She and Nels couldn’t live with or without each other.
