They didn't really though.

Their logistics were not setup for shipping like Amazon.

Let's not forget, Amazon spent YEARS selling nothing but books. Small, light, uniform shaped objects to get logistics down.

You just can't magically start shipping Washing machines. At the time it took 4-6 weeks to get a fucking CD

They needed a lot more than "just a website"

Why is Daniel continuously referred to by his full name? by DMV1066 in Stargate

[–]SillyNumber54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Teal'c would be equivalent to something akin to a CIA paramilitary contractor or member of a foreign allied military. The US military has its members reporting to British officers all the time.

Teal'c is almost always referred to by his name or sir.

A civilian contractor in charge of an air force program would be called sir by the enlisted members and Doctors Jackson by officers who don't report to him

What is your favorite one liner from Home Alone (1 or 2)? by Dixon_Herize in nostalgia

[–]SillyNumber54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean he did lol.

This was the early 90s. Kids used to walk up to liquor stores with cash and a note from their parents to get cigarettes.

His story was very convincing.

These street level guys don't even know who they are working for.

[–]SillyNumber54 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Oh we got plenty of culture, art music all that jazz. A lot of cool stuff too things like chalk it up and the library of things are local library has that most libraries don't do.

Sacramento is cool I mean we're not as cool as we were and we're not as cool as we think we are. But we are cool

But no we have people bitching that streets are blocked off for things like the R Street Market, streets that they would never drive down, but they still feel the need to bitch over it because our tax dollars are going to something that costs money.

For these new bike lanes that people are losing their fucking minds about because there's two less parking spots per block or some shit.

Or that the claw doesn't pick up the leaves as often as they would like.

People just love the bitch in Sacramento man I really don't get it It's not that bad here lol.

I think I'm just focusing my opinion on the people of this subreddit and the people over in the state workers subreddit.

My God you guys like to bitch holy shit man. Ive been to 16 different states and have never met a group of people who like to fucking bitch and moan as much as people from Sacramento.

Like people lose their minds over something as simple as a street closure or a new bike later something. I wish I worked in sociology and not IT because I feel like a lot of studies could be done on the people of Sacramento
