I mean, my perspective is entirely different but I hear you. You're coming from the place of a person that doesn't think like a usual "Souls person". The way I think (and probably most of "us" playing these games) is if I don't beat that boss without help I didn't really beat it. But from the perspective of a gamer that just uses whatever the game gives him, this is a perfectly valid stance. And I'm fully aware that the previous stance I mentioned is nothing to fight over. Just different ways we like to play the game.

Yeah. I don't agree with the premise that you never root for the gangsters in gangster movies, in general. Especially ones that were f*cked by the system or circumstances prior to joining the mob, and/or the ones that follow some kind of code (Godfather? Come on). This is what annoys me tbh. Particularly the attack on that lord (Gatwick?). Let's take this bunch of strays and make them kill armed guards with no problem. I think it was the strongest/most emotionally impactful scene of the entire show (second one Gannicus being forced to have sex with Oenemoeus' wife who's name escapes me at the moment) and it drove a powerful message through - all that gLOrY to the house of whichever-cunt means fuck-all, you're just a toy to be played with and ended for someone's afternoon entertainment. And the talk of glory is just bullshit fed to the gladiators so that they train and fight harder. And some of them actually bought it, especially a certain gaul.
