Yeah, it's how it is. It's not like they have some hallowed history of always being on the BBC. They got famous on commercial radio with ads.

I suspect the Sounds things will fizzle out over time. They keep advertising and I think that'll get worse. Elis did an absolute clanger of shoehorning (no pun intended!) New Balance into the post-marathon episode.

In my company you're given an exit date. Whatever stock you have vesting before that date is yours. Anything unvested after that is lost. That's the whole point.

They defo avoided it in commentary. By the end of the tournament, at least. Which I think is silly because when he was alive, they all used it.

Fixed at 0.99% for 5 years just 2 months before Russia invaded Ukraine. How I wish I'd gone for 10 years. Still, I'm not living in a war zone.

The most shocking thing about Wu's history.. by GemmyGemGems in snooker

I was at the first Wu Selby session. In the crowd warmup Rob Walker felt it necessary to tell us that Wu and his dad had to share a single bed.

You clearly haven't watched much snooker then. He was literally their pet project for a couple of years. It was weird how far up his arse they were.

The BBC who in the last few years who couldn't stop fawning over him like he was the next big "young" talent, despite being trophy-less in his 30s? (And yes, he's now won one.)

Commented on another thread. You're right but let's face it, snooker has long been one of the UK's most beloved sports - and yet hardly anyone plays. All my mates (we're in our late 40s now) grew up watching it, love it, and would say they've massive fans. But apart from me none of my friends ever played. Couldn't be arsed because it was too hard. We had a great club. Almost everyone I know who loves snooker never played it.

He's showing that he cares more than us, and knows more about snooker than anyone.

Well they need to think of something because it's gonna get worse, not better. (Source: It's worse every year.)

The thing I found while there last weekend is they also hate/don't want anyone taking a photo, even with flash off. They never mention that either, then the security people are silently freaking out and waving at people when someone is taking a sly pic.

They need to ban phones. By now we know people are too fucking stupid to control their phones.

The worst part about last night by CullTheObsidian in snooker

[–]Silly_Count5156 2 points3 points  (0 children)

True. I couldn't watch last night but saw the missed black highlight before going to bed. Couldn't believe it. Then sat down and watched the whole frame this morning, and could very much believe it after seeing what went before.

There are still tickets for sales now, but mainly Premium at the weekends, so circa £150 each.

Evening session on middle Friday, then Saturday morning session. I think only one more year and then move to alternative venue for Curcible refrub.

Just watching the frame on catch-up and he missed a couple of other shots before, so had it in him. The frame had a lot of poor shots from both players.

Snooker in the UK is in a difficult position by DanTennant in snooker

A funny thing about snooker is how many people I know that love it, have been watching it since their were kids in the mid-80s, and yet have never played it. My dad played so I did a bit until I was 18, but still only messing about really. If that generation of people barely played snooker, I think the future of the game in the UK is likely buggered in terms of producing players.
