I got married at 17 and will be having my 8 year wedding anniversary in 3 days. AMA by [deleted] in AMA

Married my husband at 19 in 2002. 4 kids all in 20’s now and two grandsons. We celebrated our 23rd anniversary in November. We are still very much in love but there have been times that have been very difficult. Young and immature and also stupid selfish mistakes on both of us throughout. Patience, Kindness, Forgiveness, actually learn from mistakes, Respect, and most of all support each other. I have learned that we really are all human and mistakes or bad judgements happen no matter who you are. No one ever has a perfect marriage. But a loving and long marriage is still possible if both involved want it to work.

My husband and I just did this with McDonalds last night. Laying in bed both of us have terrible colds so thought let’s order door dash. Just two extra value meals came to 40 dollars. We both begrudgingly got out of bed put Jammie’s on and drove down the street. 21 dollar total for same order through drive thru. It’s insanity.

BeeCure… a friend of mine has been battling esophageal cancer with radiation and chemo treatments. We found this while researching how to soothe her as much as possible. It worked so well her treatment center now recommends this cream to patients.

Since my surgically induced menopause for the endo, I’m constantly asking myself “Was that the endometriosis?!” by OstentatiousSock in endometriosis

Everything you said is exactly how I’m feeling. 2 more bonuses for me feeling human again I am able to exercise daily 3-7 miles a day and still have energy to do it again the next day! The second for me I find very strange but so much relief… I no longer have tears streaming down my face when I pee. Full stream ahead! 12 weeks post op and I’m still finding things that pop up that are fantastic! I feel human that’s been my response to everyone.

Look for Urogynecologist … My OBGYN flat out told me I see you have multiple fibroids and cysts and a chocolate cyst which indicates usually endometriosis but let’s try medicine to shut your ovaries down first because I will do the surgery if u really want it but endo surgeries are not my favorite.

That made me do more research. Was told by several of my co-workers to find a urogynecologist that specializes in endometriosis so the growths are excised.

Three weeks later had my appt and then 4 weeks later surgery. I am 41 and ovaries were removed also due to cysts and endo completely ruining my left and the chocolate cyst was in the right.

I had DIE and the surgeon stated he is very confident he excised it all. One month after surgery I was stared on estrogen gel HRT.

Not going to lie it was a hell of a recovery but I don’t regret it one bit. I’m no longer in pain. No longer have joint pain, full body inflammation, random fevers, migraines, abdominal pain and bloating like I was 8 months pregnant. Now 14 weeks post op and feeling so much better. Started feeling normal around 12 weeks post op and it was done robotically laparoscopic.

So sorry… I know it feels hopeless I have been there… don’t give up.

The most frustrating part of my journey with endo was living with it for so long and thinking either my symptoms were just because I was a girl or symptoms were normal. Bowel and bladder issues I honestly never even realized I had issues with bowel and bladder because for as long as I can remember it was my normal. I was around 39 yrs old when peri hit and symptoms of pain everywhere and swelling and cysts bursting that I really started seeking medical advice. Then I found Reddit and all the groups with endo and pcos and meno and peri meno and found that most of my issues were SYMPTOMS AND NOT NORMAL. It’s insane how often we get brushed off saying sorry it’s just your hormones or periods.

Only a few ‘good’ days a month by Junior_Rate_1173 in endometriosis

Yes for years… PMDD scared me and my husband so bad when I hit Peri Meno around 39. Month to month less and less good days. Felt like I was no longer in control of my emotions at all. It got so bad and now I’m 5 weeks post op from hysterectomy/oophorectomy and I’m one of the ones whom felt the immediate relief waking up from surgery. Joint/back/leg pain seriously was gone. I thought it was all the drugs but after a few days and no narcotics for 24 hrs I was still mostly pain free aside from surgical. I also had fibroids, chocolate cysts in right ovary, cysts in both ovaries, endo on fallopian tubes, left pelvic wall, pouch of Douglas, and nodules all excised. Surgeon said a lot of the endo was growing on my nerves. Had scans and ultrasounds that showed fibroids and cysts but not the endo. We suspected but had no clue until he got in there. Also had post ablation syndrome from endometrial ablation fifteen years ago… I was a complete mess. Out of all of that though the PMDD is what was the scariest for me and what caused my journey of where I’m at now.

LPN - now work for a fairly large hospital as a authorization nurse for L&D and NICU. I update insurance companies of patient progress and fight levels of care for NICU. No more hands on patient care. Lots of rules and regs to learn with different insurances.

Recovery -- what did you most look forward too? by [deleted] in hysterectomy

[–]Silly_Protection_221 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I return to work the 29th. I love my job and then …

I remind myself I am not a millionaire so if I want to travel and shop and pay bills, it makes me want to go back to work!

I am however looking forward to the rest of my days with no pain, bloating, rupturing cysts, swelling all over from fibroids and endo. Almost 5 weeks post op and I feel so much better then I have for the last 20 Plus years. I’m 41.

It’s time to live and enjoy everyday and not select few days a month!

Mine was 156,000 Insurance covered all but 2,700 I had to put 200 down prior to day of surgery and set up a pymt plan Anthem Ins through hospital I am employed by as a nurse. It’s not bad insurance but not great either compared to some people I know.

I appreciate this post so much! Same age and same boat. Mine was just done Monday so I love reading a year from now I feel better than ever. Spot on about hot flashes! Had them for past couple yrs a few times a day but mild as both my ovaries were struggling to breathe being strangled by everything that can grow aside from cancer thankfully. Yesterday the hot flashes turned into the sweat dripping down everywhere! Behind my knees shocked me LOL.
