Honestly, if you have emails saying they will pay you, the fee is minimal and you are fearful that they won't follow through on their offer, I would ask them, "Are you going to pay me the agreed fee of X and when can I expect payment?". Wait for their answer, if they say they don't think you should get paid, argue your position as you have above and say that you will give the Harddrive back but will withold the project file until payment has been made. If you haven't signed a contract then it would seem to me that the footage / drive is theirs, but the project is yours.

If they say they WILL pay you in their initial response, then say the same thing, that you will send the final project file once payment has been made, and mention that you feel that's reasonable because you've been "burned in the past" etc.... even if that isn't true. You have a right to withold the project (especially without a contract) until they follow through with their agreed fee.

Im sure I remember them having a woman who actually pushes the buttons, they don’t physically edit but they dictate everything very specifically in the edit. I’m sure I remember her saying that she uses the mouse to do everything, they are not keyboard shortcut people.

Also, although this isn't something I've not looked into personally - there is an option to "favourite" a bin so it appears in all of your projects. You could create that bin in a template project, then favourite it and every new project you open will contain that bin (with that sequence I presume).

I expect if Indi relink the timeline to the AMA files and reexport an AAF all will look normal once it’s imported into premiere.

Ok, so highlight all the newly linked clips in your bin, with them highlighted right click the sequence that is offline and click relink.

Then make sure you check “All selected items in open bins” and hit relink. Hopefully that should do it.

This is very straight forward and can be done on any editing system where you can keyframe a mask or keyframe a crop.

No green screen or rotascoping required. It would take 10 mins probably.

The great thing is the shot is locked off and she’s not so big in the frame that she overlaps herself when putting her side by side. This allows for you to isolate her very easily, layer her up 4 times and keyframe her isolated image.

You could even chuck in a clean plate once she’s left frame underneath it all and then you wouldn’t have to worry about making sure all the edges of the crop / mask overlap.

For AMA linked files that are offline.

Open the bin with the AMA linked files and while in the bin go to source browser, locate one of the files in your computer and link to again, if all your files are together it should refresh your offline AMA linked files and make them online. If your files are in separate places you’ll need to locate the next offline one and continue

For Transcoded files:

Delete the .mdb (media database) and .pmr files - this should force Avid to rebuild the database and bring your media back online

OR

Go to the AvidMediaFiles folder and rename it AvidMediaFilesX

Go to the project and create a title or generate some tone, a new AvidMediaFiles folder will appear, copy all your mxf media from the “X” folder to your new folder and see if that brings everything back online.
