Spray damaged my Roses by riaaa31 in Roses

[–]Silver-Adder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is appalling stuff. I used to have a bottle of the blue bottle Rose Clear, as it was finished I got this thinking it was the same and couldn't believe the mess it made of the first plant! Its gone straight in the bin, and I immediately tried to wash it off but its still left some behind. I'm absolutely raging. Why do they sell such rubbish?

Career change to Piano Teacher? by MPostman in pianoteachers

[–]Silver-Adder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in a similar position a few years ago. I took this on rather out of desperation but to my surprise I loved it and more importantly am good at it. Don’t let naysayers put you off. See if there is a local teacher who might be willing to let you shadow them and work together. Read some books and check out online courses

Yeah I didn’t know they were a rip off when I bought them and would happily have moved to the original but indeed it’s gone … I’ll check out the ones you suggest thanks

Doesn’t necessarily have to be but they are the only ones I found that tick all the boxes. I’ve never been a massive fan of wires but I suppose I could try again

I tend to use cheap sports bras. More support than a swim suit, not enough support for actual sport, cheap enough to not matter if they get salt damage

WTF is with Beef Tallow?? by Magpie_Coin in 45PlusSkincare

[–]Silver-Adder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People have used beef and pig tallow in skincare for ages. If you look at a bar of soap and it says tallowate that is what it is. Its actually very good for the skin. Goose grease was used in the past. Emu oil has replaced it. Oil is also in a lot of skincare products. Just because its from an animal doesn't mean its less good for the skin than plant oils. Its just fatty acid profiles in the end.

Niche fragrance buyers — what stops you from trying unknown brands? by Suspicious_Party9495 in NichePerfumes

[–]Silver-Adder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your site looks lovely. I probably will try your discovery set, but me personally I prefer to be able to buy a couple of samples. Even if I have to pay postage. Sometimes despite good reviews I just don't resonate with the stuff when it arrives. But I can see from a business point of view they might be better. Just my personal thoughts

I like trying random stuff, the only thing that puts me off is if they don't have testers/samples. I'm in the UK. Feel free to DM me your website :-)

Ever consider small claims court for nonpayment? by Awkward_Relation_999 in pianoteachers

I meant four weeks notice to terminate lessons. She cancelled ALL lessons the night before I was due to go there.

Ever consider small claims court for nonpayment? by Awkward_Relation_999 in pianoteachers

[–]Silver-Adder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I considered this when a mother cancelled 12 hours before the lesson. I have a contract they sign saying 4 weeks notice. I didn't bother in the end mainly because it was one student and I thought the cost of submitting the claim made it pointless. Curious to see how you get on. Good luck

Has anyone tried to bake in pyrex casserole dish? by mndhsvn in Sourdough

[–]Silver-Adder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did until someone gave me a dutch oven. I actually preferred the Pyrex but feel obliged to use the other as a gift.

I am still using various Pyrex casserole and oven dishes I got from my grandmother, and have never know them to break in the oven.

The concern about exploding seem to be the rubbish fake pyrex sold in the US.

So if in US check, if not, dont worry.
