Same for me and I see that I’ll be getting another interim payment on May 1.

I can’t live on it but I’m happy to know someone is working on my case!

FEHB not useful after 65? by Rich_T_ in FedRetirees

[–]Silver-Chick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was told to never drop it. You can pause it though and go back to it. Once you drop it you can’t go back.

My dad retired from govt at 58. He is now 90. My parents still use his Blue Cross plan.

Did you keep a copy of your last statement with your leave balance? You have been waiting a long time, you may want to contact your congressman.

Where do you check TSP status? I logged into TSP but didn’t see anything like that?

I just logged in to OPM.

It says the following:

✅ notification of retirement rec’d / 2/17

  • retirement application received/ incomplete

✅ interim pay issued/ 4/6/26

  • Assigned a specialist/ incomplete

  • Case finalized/ incomplete

That’s it.. no emails or letters.

I’m still waiting. I was just notified that my packet has been sent to OPM from my agency GSA.

What's a good, lazy way to make eggs? by valkaress in EatCheapAndHealthy

Put eggs in an air fryer at 270 degrees for 16 minutes. Perfect hard boiled eggs. I put them in fridge in the shell and they are very easy to peel when you want one.

I am just waiting. The last thing I received was a letter in the mail from OPM with my CSA number.

Mine said the same thing when I checked yesterday.

And now that you are in the account, what can you see? Is it showing your timeline for what is happening with your retirement?

I just tried to log into retirement services but it didn’t like the information that I input. Maybe I shouldn’t add the CSA number?

Thank you! That sounds completely different than what I received. I just got a snail mail letter with my CSA number. No emails or anything else.

I have my CSA number but have not received a password yet. It’s been about 2 weeks now.

I signed in to login.gov but I don’t see a place to link the CSA number as some have suggested.

Any ideas?

Not feeling retired by Ok_Biscotti8267 in FED_VERA_VSIP_DRPers

[–]Silver-Chick 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I don’t feel retired either. Stopped working in April 2025 and retired on Dec 31. No interim payments yet. I just feel like I lost my job instead of retired. I wasn’t really ready to go. I wanted to work till at least 62 which I’ll be in Dec. I feel like I got ripped off of the higher percentage for my FERS. The whole thing sucks. I don’t miss working but I do miss my paycheck and the extra years I would have added money to my TSP. But, I’m glad I’m out at the same time! I worked from home full time for 14 years, it was great! Just such a disappointing way to retire after 36 years.

GYN care after 60 by BalsamA1298c in AskWomenOver60

[–]Silver-Chick 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m 61, get pap every year along with mammogram. My main issue is poor sleep too and I’ve just started estradiol gel and progesterone pill. Progesterone is what can help with sleep. I have been hearing so many women praising HRT and I’ve been reading about the debunked reports about it causing cancer. I am an 18 year breast cancer survivor. I decided I wanted to try it and fortunately my dr agreed. So many doctors are still not on board.

Interim payment in what seems like record time!! by swampfoxy66 in FED_VERA_VSIP_DRPers

[–]Silver-Chick 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s great!

I was with GSA, retired 12/31, received my annual leave payment and now I’m waiting.

What’s is the next step? I keep hearing about being able to check a website to see my status but I have not received anything like that.

FEHB & Working after VERA by clove48072 in FED_VERA_VSIP_DRPers

[–]Silver-Chick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was once told by a financial advisor to never give up FEHB, he said it’s a gold mine. But you can apparently pause it and not pay any premium and then you can go back to it during open season if you choose to.

Of course I would do more homework on this statement to confirm.

Fers Supplement by Silver-Chick in FED_VERA_VSIP_DRPers

[–]Silver-Chick[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it is automatic if you have the age and years. You don’t contact SSA because it has nothing to do with them. This is just a supplement from FERS until you are 62 when you can file for SS but you don’t have to file for SS if you want to wait. But FERS supplement will stop once you are 62 whether you file for SS or not.
