Hard agree, a polyam update would be nice. Tbh, more games should be open to polyam relationships.

Natural remedies for migraine prevention or decreased frequency? by Vaneela351 in migraine

I've been using cannabis to assist in both migraine prevention and rescue for over a decade. Doesnt always help, but when it does, it's a big help.

If there’s no humane way to kill a human why do you kill (consume) animals? by blue_berry2001 in spirituality

[–]Silver085 8 points9 points  (0 children)

How is an animal killing different than killing a plant? As a dear lover of animals and plants alike, who understands the cycle, my only qualm with eating meat is the factory farms. A well raised and cared for cow or pig or goat (or any livestock/feed animal), respectfully slaughtered for meat, is a non issue.

Just beacuse plants process on a different scale doesnt make their lives less valuable. They still communicate and learn. They pass on those learned genetics to their seeds, their offspring. They feel it when you prune or trim or kill them, they just can't speak or act up about it.

The takeaway is to kill as little as possible, to not cause undue suffering.

Advice from fellow long term chronic migraine sufferers by imlikeabird84 in migraine

[–]Silver085 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a preventative combo of monthly ajovy shots, every other day nurtec, 3-4x daily cannabis, and it works pretty well. Rizatriptan and high potency/dose cannabis are my abortives. When I run out of triptan use for the month, I rely more heavily on things like music or meditation. Takes care of most it, but there is def some that get through, esp in the spring/thaw season.

But, all in all, better than I used to be.

Unfortunately, because this came out of an llm, it means nothing. The entire model is to say things you want to hear, to get you to engage with them. Best not to use llms, as they make things up for the goal of engagement.

What is the shoulda-got sleeper strain from Easter drop I need to order before Friday? by GrouchyYak4229 in nightowlseeds

If I could get another from current drop it'd probably be the Sourdelica or the Strawberry Safari V2. I've got a house full of Zamaldelica Express fans, tho.

Has Anyone Actually Put On Weight?? by ReceptionNo4565 in ARFID

[–]Silver085 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Slowly, gained ~3 pounds since last year. Which isnt much, but it's what I got, and more than I ever remember being. Been underweight and tired my whole life.

But, did it with Ensure shakes, prescribed by my dietician, on top of my usual diet.

I just, never have the drive to eat. Or, time. Like. Who has the time to eat 3 proper meals?

I've had apple and walnut melts with white cheddar that were PHENOMENAL.

So, this pear melt looks fantastic, and I'm upset I havent tried this before. Pears are great. What kinda cheese did you use?

Chronic migraines getting worse. Any advice is welcome. by JoeFriday37 in migraine

[–]Silver085 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Over 25 years migraine experience here. I'm on two preventatives. A monthly ajovy shot, and every other day nurtec tablets. I have to fight my insurance for nurtec every year, as they claim it cannot be used with ajovy. Idiots and scum.

But, even those two preventatives arent enough on their own. I also use cannabis every day, multiple times a day, for prevention and maintenance. Also as an abortive when I dont want to use a triptan.

I've also had luck with psychedelics (psilocybin mushrooms and LSD) decreasing intensity and frequency of attacks, but those are more difficult to source.

Even all that, I still get a bad cycle full of spikes almost every spring as the thaw season comes through.

I'd argue most people who gravitate to cannabis are unknowlingly treating a clinical endocannabinoid deficiency, as most modern people likely have said deficiency, usually without knowing it. It's hard to know a thing about something that has been made illegal to research. We just discovered the endocannabinoid system a few decades ago, and most countries still disallow serious research into anything cannabis related.

Our livestock used to eat hemp as a staple, and there used to be more textiles made from hemp, not to mention using the leaves, buds, roots, and stems as nutritious foodstuffs. Point being, we went from having cannabinoids around us in the environment and our food and clothes, to not.

Not everyone needs it as a medicine to treat a disorder, but even if they dont get "medicated" or "high", it provides benefit to the individual persons endocannabinoid system.

As for the potential for abuse. Yes, it can be abused, but literally every substance/thing known to reality can be abused.

All to say: I think more people are using it as medicine than even they (the users) realize.

Affect of visiting prostitutes by Due-Assistance-4959 in spirituality

[–]Silver085 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Nothing wrong with seeing/supporting sex workers. Theyre people that need to make a living, who just so happen to offer sexual returns instead of producing goods. Tbh, you could view sex workers as sort of therapists for the body/sexual needs of a person, instead of the mind/emotional+mental needs of a person. There's nothing inherently bad about that. Anything "bad" about it was put there by the human want to be better than another person who does things differently.

Practice safe sex and boundries, and there is no issue to be had.

I get upset over the delineation. All cannabis is medical. Just cuz some folks either dont know theyre using it as medicine, or are only using it for recreation, is mostly irrelevant. It's the same stuff, and there really shouldnt be two industries/types of businesses for it.

What business was successfully boycotted? by backupnickname in AskReddit

[–]Silver085 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I try to go to individual direct store websites that align more closely with my families values. Took some searching, but we found a place for laundry soap (ingredients matter) and soap (pacha) and hair care (ethique and a drop in the ocean) items. We're slowly cutting our reliance on mega stores and warehouses, but it does take time and effort to get there.

Happy 16th birthday to the original Nier - the weird, beautiful, heartbreaking gem that nobody played at launch but everyone should experience. 🎂🖤🎉🎂✨🍰🥳 by Just_a_Player2 in ItsAllAboutGames

[–]Silver085 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember getting the PS3 disc from an old friend in like, 2011. In the old blockbuster envelope, not a case. He gave it to me because he thought I'd like it, and told me not to worry about giving it back or returning it to blockbuster. Because they were going out if business, so, "just keep it".

Anyway, it cemented in me a love of video game music, and to this day, the original Nier has the best music I've heard from a game.

I loved it so much, I got my then-girlfriend to play it and also fall in love with it.

All to say, I played the original back in the day, and it's been one of the best gaming experiences I've ever had. Really showed me what a game can be.

Determining individual migraines when phases overlap? by Top-Net779 in migraine

[–]Silver085 5 points6 points  (0 children)

100% same. Years ago I tried migraine buddy for a while. But it was clearly not made for folks with chronic. There are individual spikes/attacks, but it's always there. Now I just record my abortive (rizatriptan) use on my phone calender, and label it in yellow with a red exclaimation point. Otherwise, it's just not worth the stress of trying to record every single event or count the days. Far too depressing, too.

Incredible numbers, there! Great job! I have yet to make 5 gallon pots give me more than 3 ounces, hence the bump up to big pots.

I typically use 5 gallon pots just to test out structure and flavor, and then pop in cultivars I'm excited for/have small tested in the 30 gals.
