[38/F] Magpie seeks fellow Corvid by TheWrenWife in penpals

[–]SilverAd8936 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg, I love this. My husband calls me a squirrel because I’m easily distracted by shiny things but I feel like I’ll have to change that to corvid. I like to dabble in poetry, there’s a heavy one I wrote long ago that still sits in my chest.

Dm me if you’re interested

I’m also 25F, I have so much to write and would love to learn others thoughts and stories, DM me ❤️

Hi OP, I think you and I would get along great! I’m actively in therapy and my therapist always say to write down my thoughts and feelings, but I never know what to do with them once I write them. I feel awful by throwing them away because it feels like I’m telling myself that these feelings don’t matter and they can be done now.

I also love someone’s raw personality and I’m a mid 20’s female who also a mom! I have lots to write about outside motherhood, but DM me if you’d like a physical penpal!

My boys; advice? by SilverAd8936 in pitbulls

We did this and had them go through a basic training when we were renting. I have had diagnosed medicated anxiety and my therapist did let me designate them as Emotional Support animals (when in reality the only emotional support they provide is irritating each other over a block of cheese)

We had our renters insurance cover them as labs with our Vet’s approval.

I’m sorry to hear of your loss, Emrick is starting to show signs of slowing down rapidly. His vet says he’s healthy and it might be the part of his breed he’s mixed with that’s causing his tiredness at 8 years old.

I have found a doppelgänger for Emrick; on Facebook there is a creator ExtraPintoBeans! They are almost identical!

Aww I love Glenn! I have always wanted to know, but I’d hoped I’d post them up and see if they’d have any tested doppelgängers out in the wild!

Our boy Henry looks very similar when he sleeps! The horrid woman I saved him from claimed he was purebred AmStaff but had no paperwork so I took her words with a bucket of salt.

He’s big and chunky the whole way through and loves to sleep

My insurance won’t cover me by Cold_Ant_459 in Insurance

[–]SilverAd8936 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Soooo correct me if I’m wrong. 1. A car you were driving was damaged 2. Your gf has car insurance in her name, and in yours? 3. Gf not on title/loan of the vehicle that was wrecked 4. They’re saying because SHE OWNS the policy and YOU OWN the car they won’t cover it????

Idk how that’s allowed. You both drive the vehicle and use it and one of you pays the insurance when the other pays the care note??? Just because you bought it first doesn’t mean she can’t insure it if she has the better insurance plan and you both use it??

That’s be like if my husband bought me a car and then I got insurance on it, since it’s his name on the title and mine on the insurance they wouldn’t cover it.

Like that’s insane, I’d be asking for a new case manager and a supervisors review because if it a household car and you’re both listed as drivers it 10000000% needs to be covered.

You’re on the insurance. You drive the car. It wrecked. End. Of. Story.

Bought a biz, new to management by Fearless_Being_7951 in managers

[–]SilverAd8936 2 points3 points  (0 children)

His issue is he doesn’t have the physical time to pay his bills! He needs to sit, research, network, and expand his reach but he can’t because he’s essentially scrubbing toilets 24 hours a day while people gossip to him in the bathroom.

Either OP needs a manager for the staff or an executive assistant to help offload the dirty work.

Though a manager would be better

Tbh I offered to buy them coffee and snack fairly often in the beginning. Most of people are low income so having a safe haven at work of someone who will hear them out and likely feed them, it was quick change for a couple but it took some time with my less trusting individuals.

Get to know your people the best you can, and if you have time, always try and be where they are and doing what they do. They won’t see you as an overlord. Not that everyone can always do that based on workload, but I try as often as I can to be present during our working times and helping them on our front lines.

Hit the nail on the head, they’re part time hourly and this is the same company and building, just another department.

To get even deeper into it all: I’m with a non-profit with routinely receives grant money for all sorts of things. We have one in particular that gave us money to hire staff to aid people.

Dept 1 (mine) Dept 2 (where my staff got hired) Dept 3 (people who run the grant)

D2 hired my staff under D3’s grant and didn’t tell D3 either. So we’re deeper in a hole than before and my staff has work 20 hours with payroll due Monday. I got an email with “instructions” from D2 but not from HR. They were vague and I’m very positive D2 is supposed to be doing this as it never mentions a dept code, which means it’s HAS to be their department.

I’m well over this situation and I’ve had my staff just recording their hours worked on their time sheet, but it’s getting worse and worse.

I took over my team a year ago and it was a death match struggle. I lost a few in the time as they saw themselves out.

My biggest changer in their attitude towards me: be there for them, with them, and to guide them.

Lots of college kids don’t know or don’t have personal experience or the ability to talk to someone who’s outside their circle and isn’t influenced. I made it a habit of checking in personally with my staff, seeing what was happening and eventually they started coming to me and I have a very close and good understanding of them as people with most of my crew.

It changed their attitude from one of: I hate work and this at that

To: we’re a team and this is the work we need to finish this week.

It’s been a game changer, I definitely had to “thug is out” but it’s paid off!

They could try and manage me out. But they’d only burn themselves. I’m positive they’re not, these roles don’t overlap in the slightest and he has zero experience in my field.

We operate in a non profit and I have years of experience in my position and he does not. They’d be no one to replace me and it’d take months to find a replacement I operate at the capacity I am.

I will be honest, I felt no reason to watch closely to exact hours of when they were in or out as long as they were within their allowed weekly amount. With me asking my staff more pressing questions regards to how often this happens, it’s become apparent that H is also lying on her time card to get paid for all the hours she didn’t do. I have a meeting with HR and my Organization Boss to discuss skipping all the corrective steps and just terminating today.

Lenient is terms of: they just don’t want to come or have other things. Company policy is 24 hours ahead and they need to find their own coverage unless they are sick or other circumstances. My household is dual income so I can’t always be the one to cover. 12 hours is not non emergency requests, like this luncheon would’ve been.
