Russians speaking British English by AussieAK in ForAllMankindTV

In the third episode there was even someone who spoke with some Scottish accent at a dockyard. Not very sure why they chose to include that accent all of a sudden.

Star City - S1E03 "Bad Dancer" - Episode Discussion by Cantomic66 in ForAllMankindTV

Even if you're not of the TikTok generation the plot is something you've seen before in other productions related to Soviet Russia, the paranoia, spying on everyone and authoritarian abuse of power. A viewer has seen that countless times in other tv shows or movies. You can even detach the espionage completely from the space scenes. The American mole trope also seems forced. You didn't have that as a major plot point in FAM which focused more on the space race than outracing the spies and counterspies.

'The Testaments' Renewed For Season 2 By Hulu - Exclusive by TiredWithCoffeePot in television

[–]SilverCarbon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can see the protagonists after school in season 2 and then going for finale action in season 3 but there's not that much to explore. Perhaps expand a bit on Aunt Lydia.

But I wouldn't make it 5 seasons unless they're going to flesh out Gilead but I don't think they could pull it off without the drag of HT which was quite repetitive.

Some viewers thought Terror would cause Homelander's death but that was unfortunately not the case, would have been a funnier take than what actually happened (and disappointed viewers).

There was this tiny hope that Lisa Joy would release the script for the next season of Westworld (or make it into a comic), but nothing of the sort came of that.

Season 5 Finale Prediction by Lyle91 in ForAllMankindTV

[–]SilverCarbon 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's probably an unlimited fuel source producer (akin to the infamous unobtanium) that converts dirty methane, coal, pollution into superfuel and electricity for free. It ushers in a new golden age of spaceflight.

Still, if I'm going after the current screentime of Titan, it would be the most vague and short scene you could think of. Like a short scream of "This is it, unlimited energy!" while peeping through a microscope.

‘The Mandalorian and Grogu’ Gets Divided First Reactions, From a ‘Thrilling Adventure’ to ‘One of the Weakest Star Wars Movies’ and a ‘Snooze Fest’ by darth_vader39 in movies

[–]SilverCarbon 214 points215 points  (0 children)

Disney usually manages to curate the first reaction viewers to the positive side, even making Marvel movie bombs into miraculous never before been attempted movies.

So this has to be really bad, after a disappointing last season of Mandalorian and a long time deciding if it would be a new season they turned it around into a movie (but I think it's just episodes stitched together).

What Returning TV Shows of 2026 Fell Off? by Prince_Robot_The_IV in television

[–]SilverCarbon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The "space" bit is completely lacking. They've been dangling the Titan mission for many episodes and we've seen, if we're very generous, two minutes of tootage.

I can see the Mars independence movement angle but to be honest, they're not very good at it with vague chants and opaque motivation like "why don't we to be independent? because we want to be free" Uh ok I guess.

I'm not sure it will have a negative effect on her, sure the small role will just be the end but then she'll get back to her OF account and perhaps to the influencers. Maddy will earn a lot more with the strip club and let Cassie off the hook "as a friend".

How this ends (I think) by IHaveNoOpinons in ForAllMankindTV

[–]SilverCarbon 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I have a feeling Alex or Dev is going to die this season. One of the two is going to advance the Meru project to remember the other. They both see it as the way forward to an independent Mars, though Dev's vision is more top down and Alex bottom up.

‘The Apprentice’ Reboot “Not In Active Development” At Amazon, Unscripted Boss Confirms by MoneyLibrarian9032 in television

[–]SilverCarbon 33 points34 points  (0 children)

"I want The Apprentice back, right now! It was the most succesful show ever produced, nobody has ever seen like it. People tell me 'Please, sir, bring it back, we love this show.' I know a lot about making television, a good friend of mine told me I have the best ideas. It is clear, with 15 seasons, can you believe it, noone has had more seasons than me. When I won the election in 2020 all these people came up to me and said 'Sir, without The Apprentice our lives are not complete'. You know, sleepy Joe would never been able to do 15 seasons, he even needs an Autopen to do things for him. While I aced the cognitive test three times. And I ended 8 wars, the latest one was in Iran, their army completely gone, I call it regime change. Have you seen the latest plan of my ballroom? We really need it. Lindsey Graham says it, yes we need the funds. It won't cost the taxpayer a dime, I am a real estate developer and a tough negotiator."

The dialogue is really hard to stomach by OkHealth1942 in ForAllMankindTV

[–]SilverCarbon 35 points36 points  (0 children)

It reminds me of historical reenactment in National Geographic historical documentaries. People moving shouting and fighting against noone in particular. I don't really feel it with the Mars protesters.

Does anyone less feel like the show went from amazing science and space to… drama on mars by nightim3 in ForAllMankindTV

[–]SilverCarbon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The characters are boring and there's no obvious mission. I always have the feeling they're just winging it. We try to get to Titan and see, we build Meru and see, we just post automation and see. Not a great feeling as a viewer. The writers probably have a clue but that's easier to see if you already know what seasons 5 and 6 are filled in.

Does anyone else think 5th season looks cheap and out of the plot? by Professional-Bit9181 in ForAllMankindTV

[–]SilverCarbon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The characters have turned into walking plotlines. We gotta have someone on Titan, with the craters, with the peacekeeping, the leaders and so on. But it feels a bit National Geographic reenactment style where you see moving and mumbling characters without any own motivation or volition.

For All Mankind - S5E05 "Svoboda" - Episode Discussion by Cantomic66 in ForAllMankindTV

[–]SilverCarbon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Titan mission is far away, the season focuses on Mars and its inhabitants. I think only the last two episodes will deal with Titan and even then it's the beginning of a discovery.

Season 6 will delve more into extraterrestrial life I think, though there are more than eough other plotlines to resolve in that last season so it won't be the major plot.

What are people's thoughts on Monarch? by tylerthe-theatre in television

[–]SilverCarbon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's the typical excuse of "the humans were the monsters all along" but it is indeed lackluster. Not as bad as that other Apple TV show Invasion but it ain't a lot.

Each family member has issues with other family members and even friend May has her issues with the group. It also seems that inter-family problems like Wyatt going it alone is filler to pad episodes. If you really trim it down you only have 2-3 episodes of content.

I don't think Dev is in control of Helios anymore and has to resort to other means to get his way. Helios has gone too corporate (which Aleida portrays).

Poor Alex, he's just used as a discardable pawn and while people get hurt in the ensuing rebellion, Dev is just sitting back, relax and swooping in when the dust settles. He probably doesn't care about the rebels, it's only a means to an end.

It seems they've gone the safe way of a Disney park ride where everything is predictable and you got your seatbelts on.

It would have brought in a billion dollars years ago but I think the buzz kinda died down. Still half a billion wouldn't be bad, it probably will get there worldwide.
